I’ve been a fan of Doner G for a while, and never had problems with the Irvine location, but this location… the last few times I went, there was always something a bit off. We kept going because again, I’m a fan of the restaurant and it’s a convenient location for my wife and I… but this morning, we both woke up feeling very sick, having to go to the restroom multiple times, and both feeling nauseous. After an hour laying in bed I went to the restroom and threw up a lot as well, (and I NEVER throw up.) I got food poisoning, plain and simple.
I say this next part as a Latino; I felt like the people who worked there didn’t really speak English and I’m not sure about their hygiene standards. It just didn’t seem as put together as the Irvine spot. My message to the owner… you’ve got a great concept and I have been eating your food for years but you really got to look into that location. They were really confused at basic questions I asked, they didn’t seem that enthusiastic, and the food made me sick as a dog this morning. It’s a shame.
EDIT: I wrote this review about an hour ago, and have been lying in bed… just threw up a lot more. Never been sick from food like this since I was a kid. DO NOT EAT THIS LOCATION, DRIVE TO IRVINE AND OWNER PLEASE...
Read moreI recently visited DonerG Turkish & Mediterranean to try their wraps, and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience! From the moment we walked in, Colton, Patti, and Celest greeted us with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
Colton truly went above and beyond in providing exceptional service. As it was our first time there, he made fantastic suggestions and took the time to explain the menu, which I greatly appreciated. He was incredibly patient with me, especially since I was indecisive and eager to try a little bit of everything. His enthusiasm for the food was infectious, and it made the experience even more enjoyable.
The portion sizes were generous, especially compared to other places I've visited, which made the meal even more satisfying.
The restaurant itself was impeccably clean and well maintained, indicating that the staff takes pride in their establishment. It was clear that this is a beloved spot in the community, as many patrons were enjoying their meals and chatting happily.
I will definitely be coming back to DonerG, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to my friends and family. If you’re looking for delicious Mediterranean cuisine and top-notch service, make sure to stop by and say...
Read moreDecided to bring my husband to this restaurant as he has never had Turkish food before. As soon as we go in, we are greeted by a gentleman in the front (the manager?). He was very nice and offered to explain us the menu. We ordered the falafel salad and Turkish street fries. The set up of this restaurant reminds me of Chipotle. The food is made in front of you and you customize your dish as you go. All the ingredients are very fresh and the fries are fried as you order (you will not be soggy fries here). The reason why I am not giving this restaurant 5 stars is because the customer service is not consistent. As much as I like the customer service the gentleman in the front was providing, the rest of the staff did not seem to care. Everybody was very rude and did not want to be there. The person who was working the cash register asked us if we wanted sauces with our meal. My husband wanted to know the difference between the sauces to decide which one to get (we didn't want to get all of them and waste it if we didn't end up liking them). But this person did not seem to know much...
