I had a terrible experience, this morning at 9:00 am when I walked into the Corner Bakery, there was nobody who looked up or acknowledged that we were there. I did notice the fly doing a tap dance on the freshly baked cinnamon rolls and when I mentioned it the worker at the counter he gave me a look like, "it's not my job"??? and the manager ignored me as though I said nothing. He finally looked in my direction and walked over to the counter as if he was on holiday???? When we went to get some coffee none of the 4 carafes had coffee in them we had to wait about 15 minutes for them to get there act together to finally fill the carafes and it wasn't busy!!! The food came with dirty silverware and they forgot to give me my muffin. When I finally got a muffin it was cold, and the manager didn't even bother to ask if I wanted it heated. Two waitresses were sitting in a corner and the manager said that they were short staffed. I think what's really going on here is that these people do not care about their jobs, and could careless about the customers. They either need to pay their people better money or hire some people that actually want to work. I called the corporate office and the women said that the district manager was going to call. I am not sure if anyone will ever call but I will keep you posted. I like the corner bakery, but I feel that there is no need for bad service and no coffee available. I really hope they can clean up their...
Read moreIf 0 stars was an option I would have chosen that. It's been a long time since I've been to Corner Bakery, the location I used to go to went out of business and based on today's experience I expect this location to do the same in the near future. The service was horrid. In the past I ordered from a person at the counter, thT is no longer the case and I am okay with that as that seems to be the direction the restaurant industry is going. With that said, their system is a little quirky which lead to to a question. The staff was unbelievably rude. I waited patiently to be acknowledged as I stepped in front of the counter where they were. After waiting a bit I finally said excuse me....no acknowledgement just a glare as if how dare I talk to her. I asked my question, got another glare and a short unclear answer. This person has noooo business being in the service industry. My standards are overly high as I understand working in a restaurant can be hard and demanding at times. It was slow,3:45 pm, there was only one other customer in the place. The dinning room was dirty. There were six tables with dirty dishes and the floor was covered in food scraps. I will say the staff member who brought me my meal was a little nice, she had bright unnatural red hair. I say that not because I have a problem with it but in hopes a manger reads this an knows which staff member was semi pleasant. She holds potential for working in the...
Read moreNot sure what's up with particular location, but this Corner Bakery seems to have gone down hill recently. Almost every time I go in, the tables are dirty, full of crumbs, etc. Plates and trays are left on the table, but it takes awhile before they are retrieved and sent to the kitchen. I've actually seen workers, especially managers, just walk by and ignore them. Even when they are taken away, they do not always wipe the tables.
The coffee counter (where you can get your own coffee, cream, sugar, etc.) is not much better. Periodical cleaning would be nice.
The food is hit or miss. For example, I usually go in the morning and get a toasted sesame seed bagel with cream cheese. Either its a bit burnt or not toasted enough. It is almost always cut unevenly, and there seems to be no standard for the amount of cream cheese they provide. To be fair, it tastes good. However, it just seems like there isn't any quality control.
The largest saving grace is the staff. They are always polite and...
