Habit Burger & Grill — Restaurant in Santa Ana

Stopped by this place around 6 PM on February 20th to pick up a DoorDash order. There was an older gentleman at the counter, who seemed to be either the head cashier or manager, though he didn’t have a name tag. I showed him the order on my screen, expecting a smooth pickup. He looked confused and his English wasn’t the clearest, which wouldn’t usually be a big deal if we could still get things done. Unfortunately, the language barrier became a real issue when I tried to confirm if the order was ready.

He told me the order had already been picked up, but I double-checked and asked him to look again. He then said he hadn’t received any orders, which didn’t make sense at all. The whole conversation was hard to follow, so I called DoorDash for help. When I asked him to check his iPad, it seemed a bit off—like the app wasn’t even open. At this point, the customer canceled the order while I was still there, and I left with nothing.

Honestly, it seemed like this location or this specific person needs more training if they’re going to partner with delivery services like DoorDash. The whole situation was poorly handled and didn’t inspire confidence. These delivery services have become an integral part of their business, and if they’re not trained to deal with it, it’s just bad business. Too often, it feels like delivery drivers are treated like a separate entity from the customer, when in reality, we’re just the go-between. The staff needs to understand that their service isn’t just about in-house customers, but the ones relying on...

There's no substitution for quality indeed! Every Charburger tastes great here but I especially love the new limited time offer Tempura Jalapeño Charburger! It's very juicy & savory like all the other Charburger but with the perfect kick of spice from the crunch Tempura Jalapeño & Jalapeño Mayonnaise gives your taste buds a different kind of burn on your tongue that makes you come back craving for more! The onion rings has the perfect crunch from the beginning to the end. The sweet potatoes tastes really crispy fresh & naturally sweet without any added sugar like most other places! The Tempura Green Beans are lightly battered which is nice but it's tasty enough where you don't really need to dip it into any sauce to enjoy the flavor! I love the condiment bar! I could get all the Jalapeño that I need to eat with all of my sides! The fresh Strawberry Lemonade has the perfect mix of sweet & tartness that's really refreshing with every sip! I will definitely come back to try all the other stuff...

The food was great. The staff and service? Not so much. I had a bday coupon and didnt remember til immediately after and told the cashier, Flor. She said it was too late. I thought she was kidding even tho she stared blankly at me. I asked if I could speak to a mgr. Flor said, "shes in the back." (Another blank stare) So I asked if ahe could get her. No answer, just a dropping of her shoulders and loud sigh. Manager comes up. I tell her the incident and she says she cant do anything since i already had my food. I hadnt even gotten my receipt when I mentioned it. After confirming I hadnt she Says im more than welcome to use it at another visit. Why they cant refund $4 from a $25 sale is beyond me and no one could answer why. The manager just offered me a coupon for another free burger when I asked what shed do if I just decided I didnt want any of my order. All this for $4! I wanted the food so I left it at that.
