TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I booked my appointment through text, I was very clear about the time and they confirmed. I paid the $50 deposit and was warned that if I arrived late, my service would be shortened.

I arrived 10 minutes early. I was led to a room to the side and waited 35 MINUTES without anyone acknowledging me or letting me know what was going on. I even went outside of the room and tried to ask another stylist if anyone was coming to help me, but she just told me to wait more. I would have got up and left if not for the $50 deposit.

When someone finally came half an hour later, she washed my hair and was very harsh when drying it. She was ripping my hair out with the hairbrush, that I could hear the sound of my hair snapping and breaking... It was painful as well. In all my years of going to the salon, no stylist had ever been so forceful while brushing hair. Everyone I had was gentle. And there was no reason for her to brush my hair out, because she was just drying it only.

Also, if you come here, you need to understand Korean. The staff was very hard to communicate with in English. When they asked me how I liked my hair to be cut, I said my preference but they did not understand. I had to use hand gestures and even got my phone out to type the words, so that they could understand me. Still, there was a disconnect. I also could not understand their English 70% of the time. It was like going through a blackbox, I was hoping and praying that they actually understood my request and not mess up my hair.

Lastly, I was rushed out the door, because the owner said she had errands to run. The funny thing is that if she actually showed up at the scheduled time, she would not be late! Don't you think you shouldn't show up half an hour late, instead of rushing the customer's scheduled service time? My time is very valuable and I would much rather spend it anywhere else rather than at a salon waiting for my stylist, not doing anything.

Today was my second time coming to Repit K-Beauty Salon. The last time I came here was 4 months ago, both times for a Digital & Setting Perm. Both times costed $400, including the deposit.

I very rarely repeatedly come back to hair salons, mainly because a lot of hairstylists I’ve seen don’t know what does and doesn’t look good on me. However, the owner of this salon, Sue is totally different. Firstly, she has the most warm, bubbly, and friendly energy. Even though there is a slight language barrier, I don’t need to communicate too much with her (besides perhaps a picture or two) for her to give me amazing results. I trust her judgement of what looks good on me even more than my own. She really has an eye for hair and you’ll definitely walk out looking better than when you came in.

The first time I came was my first time ever getting a perm— I came in with the worst layers and dry ends. I asked for soft curls that framed my face, and they delivered! I fell in love with the results and hardly had any damage from the perm. The perm lasted longer (4 months) than what I expected (2-3 months), despite the fact that it was a somewhat subtle perm. The second time I came was for a digital perm as well, except much more curly.

The employees here are very sweet and wholesome people, and their perms/haircuts are totally worth the money. Sue always gifts me really helpful styling products before I leave. Although you may want to cut out a big chunk of time if you’re getting a perm (2-4 hours), the service and hospitality here is amazing.

I've been getting a keratin treatment for nearly a decade to manage my curly and frizzy hair that’s been previously damaged from a dye and a poorly done Japanese straight perm from another salon. The keratin kept my hair smooth and reduced some frizziness without causing much damage, but I needed something more permanant that allows easier maintenance since I started exercising more frequently. While I was researching, I found photos of others with similar hair condition getting a very nice result from a magic setting perm treatment.

In my search, Repit K Beauty was the only salon in the area that provided a service that combines straightening and curl. It was helpful to see the photos of others who benefited from this special perm so I knew what to expect. I’ve reached out to book an appointment and luckily I was scheduled the next day. Booking was simply done through text and it was quickly confirmed just after the deposit. The stylist checked my hair condition and asked several questions at my arrival, and explained the whole process thoroughly. I loved that the stylist didn’t rush me and patiently worked on my hair for over 7hours to meet my request. She also tried her best to make me feel comfortable by showing empathethy.. for my out of control hair lol and used her humor to entertain me the entire time.
