If you’re looking for the ultimate thrill ride that completely redefines what a roller coaster can be, look no further than X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I had the chance to ride it recently, and let me just say—it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, X2 delivered non-stop excitement, intensity, and fun like no other ride I’ve experienced before.
One of the best parts of my visit was the surprisingly short line. I was expecting to wait a long time because X2 is one of the most popular rides in the park, but the line moved fast and efficiently. I was on the ride in no time, which just made the whole experience even better. It’s rare to find such a high-caliber attraction with such a short wait.
Now onto the ride itself—WOW. From the moment I was strapped into the seat and we started ascending that first lift hill, I knew I was in for something special. The rotating seats and the face-first drop were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It felt like flying, flipping, and freefalling all at once. The ride truly messes with your sense of direction in the best way possible.
I loved how intense every second of the ride was. It wasn’t just about speed or height—although X2 has plenty of both—it was the unique 4D movement of the seats that made it feel so unpredictable and thrilling. You never really know what’s coming next, which kept my adrenaline pumping the whole time. Every loop, twist, and dive was executed flawlessly.
The sound effects and fire elements added a whole new dimension to the ride. There’s something unforgettable about feeling flames burst into the sky as you dive down at breakneck speed. It’s sensory overload in the best possible way, and it makes X2 not just a ride, but an experience.
Another thing I appreciated was how smooth the ride was despite all the chaos and motion. A lot of intense coasters can feel rough or jerky, but X2 managed to be powerful and smooth at the same time. That made it even more enjoyable and left me wanting to ride it again immediately.
I truly loved this ride. It’s the kind of experience that sticks with you long after you’ve gotten off. I couldn’t stop smiling and talking about it for the rest of the day. For thrill-seekers and roller coaster fans, X2 is an absolute must-ride. I reckon it's one of the best coasters I've ever been on!
And honestly, I can’t say enough good things about Six Flags Magic Mountain in general. The park was clean, well-organized, and full of energy. The staff were friendly and everything was running so smoothly. It’s easily one of my favorite amusement parks now.
In conclusion, X2 blew me away. From the short line to the heart-pounding ride experience, everything was top-notch. I loved every second of it and can’t wait to come back and ride it again. If you’re visiting Six Flags Magic Mountain, don’t miss it—it’s an unforgettable adventure that’ll leave you...
Read moreThis is the only coaster I can think of since I was a kid that had me a bit scared to ride it - and I'm pushing 50 years old. 4D coasters have always just looked like stomach-churners and that's not my thing. But my youngest gave it such a strong recommendation that I had to give it a shot, and several other park-goers during this visit said the same.
And wow, am I ever glad I did. This was unexpectedly the highlight of my visit. I rode at night, near closing time. The waitwas supposedly close to 3 hours according to the info screen but once I got there it was actually less than an hour. Call me a weenie, but it was halfway through the ride before I was actually able to open my eyes. And once I did the hood on my jacket was flapping around so much I couldn't see anyway. I got off the ride half out of breath and completely confused as it what happened. As I was walking off - I was here at the park alone - I started scanning the next set of riders getting on to see if there were going to be any empty seats. At the second row I found an empty seat, and askedthe ride op if I could take it. He gave a dismissive shrug and that was good enough for me. Into the seat I go, leaving my hood down this time despite it being 40°.
So this time I got a good view. Good GAWD... This ride is equally insane to Steel Vengeance. Not quite as good a ride I might say, but the insanity level is definitely there. It's even more disorienting than SV, but in a completely different way. Plenty of strong forces, plenty of floater airtime, no ejector airtime but it's not really designed for that. It's sort of like having somebody toss you into a blender, turn it on medium, and then drop kick it off the side of a mountain. I've seen some other reviews now that complain about it being rough in some areas, but I did not pick up on that. I have a bad neck and a bad back and after two rides back to back neither was bothering me.
In short, don't chicken out on this ride. It's not as scary as it might seem, it's a ton of fun, and there's not very many places you can get an experience like this at all....
Read moreHoly cow this ride is amazing!!!! Definitely the most intense roller coaster I've ever ridden! If you are not a fan of rough or intense rides, do not ride this coaster, I have warned you. As a coaster enthusiast, I love this kind of ride! You start out going backwards going up the lift hill, getting a great view of six flags magic mountain and the surrounding area. You then go down the most demented first drop in the world. The seats turn you so you are facing directly at the ground! In the back row this feels absolutely chaotic! You flip at the very last second and rise into the first raven turn, which gives you a little bit of airtime. You think that the next element is going to be an airtime hill, but instead, you do a backflip and it is so cool! The next turn is kind of a dud, it just goes too slow and provides no force. But it gets right back into the action with a fly-to-lie element, which is kind of like a half zero-g roll and your seat will rotate here also. The final raven turn is very intense and the only part of the ride that I think is uncomfortable. Because of this ride's restraint setup, your upper body is very well secured and there isn't much holding your lower half in. This makes your legs smack the hard plastic on the trains on that final raven turn. Then you hit the break run. It is so intense, I don't think I could ride it more than 3 times in a row because it is so intense! It is my second favorite ride in the park just behind twisted colossus, but the two are both very close for me. If your a coaster enthusiast going to magic mountain, you HAVE to ride this ride. There is nothing else like it outside of Asia! It will...
