Horrible experience, wish I could give 0 stars
I will say The restaurant staff was great.
but here are the problems I had. The TV would not turn on so we contacted the front desk on Saturday the 16th at 8:30 pm she apologized and stated, unfortunately they didn’t have anyone to come in and fix the TV and they were completely booked so we could not be changed to another room. After apologizing again She then promised us that our room would be comped for the night and she also gave us free dinner. We were satisfied and felt she handled things very professionally and thought we were walking away with a good experience. But unfortunately.
The next day I was charged in full and at a higher rate then what the room was when I booked.
when I called to let them know I was charged for the night even though the front desk said I wouldn't be. The hotel manager, then proceeded to call me a liar and that I was trying to scam him!!
I was completely outraged. 5 ppl heard the women tell us that the night was going to be free. I was outraged. At the tone and complete disrespect from this man the way he spoke to me was outrageous. At first, I thought it was a joke he could not be serious.
He proceeded to start to argue with me while was trying to explain We never even asked for the night free or the dinner. once he started cussing at me,
I informed him I was going to be contacting the Hilton directly and report his behavior. so he proceeded to tell me that he was going to keep charging my credit card over and over again told me that I was going to regret threatening to call and report him and that he would continue to be charging my card if I posted a bad review.
as soon as I hung up on this insane person I started getting notifications from my bank.
This insane person was actually charging my card, numerous different amounts over the course of a week. 58. 125, 72, 45, and so on
by the time I was able to report my card as stolen and turn my card off. He had charged my card over $1k he harassed me for over a week not only did he keep charging my card, he was also calling my phone and screaming at me. He would go from irate to laughing hysterically. I had to block the number this man literally harassed my family and I.
I did contact the Hilton and report him. They apologize for the inconvenient. and insured me the matter would be looked into. I was not satisfied with that. Answer
I also contacted the police department and made a report of the harassment and unauthorized charges to my credit card.
Do yourself a favor and stay...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and find another place to stay. I’m a frequent business traveler. I stay over 100 nights a year in hiltons, and I’ll put up with a lot so for me to write this is unusual, but this place is one I will not stay at again. Garden Inn’s usually have restaurants in them. Some are good, some not so much, but you can usually count on a burger and a couple of drinks. Their so called restaurant and bar is a counter you order at cafeteria style. You can’t get a decent drink to save your life and when you do get someone’s attention they are happy to charge you $35 for a vodka soda. Their “system” was supposedly down, requiring ordering, walking back to the main desk and standing in line again to pay for your food, then retrieving your stuff, or you had to charge it to the room. They have to make money, I get it, but really? The rooms are tired, smelly, with old furniture and dark lighting. One of my co workers was chasing roaches around his room. I was on the first floor outside of a pool area. Had to endure loud people in the pool until after 10pm, then a group in an adjacent room came in at like 2am, blasting the tv (which was never shut off) and slamming doors. So much for quiet time. The washer dryer, which didn’t work on the Sunday I got there, are disgusting. My clothes now have an odor that repeated washings at my home machines are struggling to remove. Those machines are ancient. They need to be re-laced every 5 years or so and they are obviously not interested in doing that. The help was fine, if you could find them. The place seems understaffed evidenced by their weird bar/restaurant set up. I’m surprised Hilton corporate would allow them to operate that way. Usually HGI’s and their other brands stick to their formats so you know what you are getting, and that is why I usually stay at them or regular hiltons. I’ll go back to the Hampton nearby, which has an Outback in the parking lot. At least I’ll still...
Read more“I am not sure how you managed to drive yourself to another Hilton property as we were expecting you per the Guarantee Policy we have. For some reason you did not check your confirmation email nor did you call Central Reservations. All you did was check with the Reception at another Hilton Property whom did not even bother to assist you to see where you were supposed to stay. I would call that property and ask them why they had you stay there instead of the property you booked at.”
These are the words of Danny Efron, Manager of the Garden Inn Valencia, Calif., on Mar. 16, 2019, when asked to reverse double charges for the same night’s stay at two Hilton properties.
Come to find out Hampton, Garden Inn and other Hilton properties are franchised. Their computer systems don’t talk with each other. The Hilton Honors program has no authority to help its members. And judging from the General Manager Pejoro’s support of Efron’s response, senior hotel management is unprofessional, rude and condescending.
Granted, my husband and I, both 67 and from Michigan, aren’t proficient California travelers. We thought we were doing well to survive a harrowing 5-hour drive from Huntington Beach to northern Los Angeles. The hour was 10 p.m. PST (1 a.m. EST). We were exhausted. We took a wrong exit and thought we were checking into our hotel for the night. The receptionist couldn’t find our reservation and didn’t recognize our confirmation number, so she kindly made a new reservation and checked us in.
Thinking we had been phone scammed in making the original reservation, we called VISA the next day to check our bill, only to learn that we had two charges. The Garden Inn, Valencia, Calif., dinged us for $185 in addition to the Hilton/Hampton Inn charges in Santa Clarita.
Granted, my husband and I inadvertently checked into the wrong property. We were apparently incorrect in assuming we were in a network of hotels designed to show...
