Weâmy niece, her fiancĂ©, and I, had a terrific celebratory experience hereï»ż! Iâm Indian. Which is the same thing as saying âjewelry is in my blood.â If itâs about gems, precious and semi, settings for them, metals and the gold of lore, e.g. 24k and 22k, which Indians literally measure the worth of a human ⊠ridiculous and vulgar, isnât it? But seriously, itâs kinda true that we Indians begin to seriously collect gem encrusted pure gold at birth. We see it as a birthright, passing it down from generations, as a part of personal wealth. No wedding is complete without a veritable truckload of jewelry. Itâs not adornment, or disposable luxury; it's as an indispensable necessity. To the point where at the wedding there is assigned a dedicated âgoldâ ledger to count/document and record the family bestowing the gold as a wedding gift. All of this is to say we know our stuff. My niece and her priceless gem of a fiancĂ© enlisted meâor rather, I inserted myself, lol :-) to help with the process of selecting a ring for her betrothal, an antiquated but fitting term. They turned to Mark Allen, a well-reputed jeweler nearby their town, and someone whom, over many years, their family and friends have had consistently positive experiences with. My niece narrated to me, impressed, hushed tones, âMark came out to talk to us, so sweet and kind, helped us figure out exactly what I had in mind and show us a beautiful diamond. She waxed rhapsodically about the emerald cut diamond she saw, and a girl after my own heart, rattled off the length and width mm, girdle and fluorescence, pavilion and facets, ctw and VS1, color grade G ⊠yes, I said âgirdleâ I mean, come on! Impressed with their customer service, engagement to the process, understanding that for all couples about to begin their journey, about to begin their lives together in a way never before have they experienced ⊠that for many of them, this is a new venture, fraught. Itâs a challenging time, and shopping for an engagement ring/wedding band is an investment, a major expenditure of time, energy, and money, the latter of which so few young couples have in excess. Which is why, feeling as protective as I do of my niece and her âfiancĂ© to be,â I was infinitely relieved to see Mark Allen behave with utmost graciousness and generosity. Mark unfailingly gracious and understanding, taking the time to walk them through the initial pieces of educating of stones (not that the Sablet needed it), but she definitely appreciated it, as did Aziz. I experienced Mark Allen as attuned and present, service oriented, truly customer-centric, e.g. this shop goes beyond, wanting above all else, to have their customers leave with rich and meaningful memories, to set a positive precedent for their married lives. Wait, did I mention their other jewelry genre? Plus the special occasion and bridal choices, a vast, varied selection of jewelry, everyday pieces, ranging from precious metal necklaces and rings with and without gems, e.g. yes sapphires and other corundum, ruby, plus my personal favorite, the unrivaled emerald ⊠I saw they have all manners of other colored gemstones, so refreshing in this day of diamond obsessed culture. Colored stones are the thing, though the beryl/chromium thing of wonderâ emeraldsâ being the softest of precious gems, are not a choice for an engagement ring. But the point Iâm making is, Mark Allen offers them in other jewelry forms. Btw., the shop itself is welcoming and bright, sparkling and drenched in light, more than enough windows for us to properly check out the quality of stones, the perfect showcase and context (glass and velvet trays to showcase) illuminating anything requiring sun: ummm, gems anyone? For those who want settings other than simple smooth metal, they also have an impressive array of intricate designs, e.g. milgrain. Highly recommend...

My experience--
I bought my engagement ring here for an untold amount. I was and am still VERY pleased!!! My fiance is even more pleased almost a year and a half later!!! The ring is brilliant and my shopping experience could not have been better. I was told by the store owner that when coming back, my fiance and I could get a discount on our actual bands!!! This once in a lifetime experience could not have been friendlier, easier, more seamless. I consider myself to be in excellent hands with the guidance of the staff at Mark Allen, as well as the super nice owner, who is almost always there! My fiance and I went back yesterday to purchase wedding bands. We found exactly what we wanted and everything looked absolutely amazing. They cleaned my fiance's ring while we shopped. (They offer this cleaning service free of charge, however often you would like which is nice as well). Nate patiently waited and helped us with an as always super-positive, consultative approach while we picked out the perfect bands for our wedding.
Bottom line is: the guys and gals who work here (Nate and owner, and I assume the woman who I have not yet interacted with) are as nice as they come!!! Their selection is probably the best in town! The staff is the ENTIRE reason I chose to spend a large sum of money with this company and not the other 6-7 local jewelers I shopped with. This is probably the most friendly jewelry shop you will ever walk into! You can tell that the owners and employees actually, genuinely care; past the point of sale. I HIGHLY recommend shopping here for anyone looking to purchase an engagement ring or any type of jewelry.
Mark Allen is the best Jeweler in Santa Rosa by leaps and bounds! From TN to CA, this is the best shop I have ever been in as far as: quality of product, feel, and care of staff, etc.)
Do yourself a favor and just stop by and meet Nate...
Read moreHighly recommend! My partner and I have had nothing but positive experiences with Mark, Felicia, and Nate (I think his name is Nate?). Jake first went in to Mark Allen to purchase an engagement ring, knowing nothing about jewelry. He had an idea of what I wanted (I had of course sent him lots of Pinterest photos of my preferences throughout the months). Mark used this information to help Jake create a custom ring that is exactly what I wanted, nothing more, nothing less. Upon receipt, I was thrilled at the beauty, radiance, and simplicity. It was a bit large when I first received it, so Mark resized a couple sizes down, no problem. Unfortunately when I got it back, it (and the wedding band) was too small! At no fault to Mark or his team, I just have very bony fingers so they're challenging to fit over my big knuckles! I felt so bad having to call them back to ask them to size it AGAIN but they were so kind and gracious and gladly resized with no complaints or negative energy, it was their pleasure. Both rings now fit perfectly. Each time I've gone into the shop, I'm greeted with smiles and excellent customer service. Mark and his team are truly a pleasure to work with and always make friendly conversation during and after the transaction. Customers are made to feel special while they are in the shop and I haven't walked out once without a smile on my face, feeling giddy! I will continue to use Mark for my jewelry needs and would gladly recommend to friends. Thank you...
