Shay Park, named for the Shay Locomotives that ran in the nearby Tintic mining district, will be opening to the public in the spring of 2016. This 12 acre park located in the beautiful Aspen Hills neighborhood, has two multi-use playing fields, a pavilion with picnic tables, a train themed playground w/ climbing boulders, swings, and more. Maintained by The City of Saratoga Springs, they have partnered with non-profit group The Utah Live Steamers Railroad Club who will be providing ride-on train rides around the park at least one Saturday a month to start. Read moreGreat playground for all ages. Lots of swings, lots of slides. There was plenty of things for a toddler to climb and explore. And plenty for an older child to enjoy also. The train theme was a lot of fun, especially for a train loving kid. I wish they would have had more information on what looks like a train that comes around regularly. There was nothing about it except the tracks. We noticed a good pavilion area with a lot of tables. There was a couple soccer fields, and lots of room to run around in general. Great little park, just wish they had more information...
