We love our new phones and are normally pleased with Verizon and their customer service, but are really disappointed in the Saratoga springs store and their representatives. Ethan helped us and we felt that he was helpful at first, but he took advantage of us and it was really frustrating. He was very kind and helpful in the store but ended up being super dishonest and we ended up having to go back and return all of the things he said were âincluded in our upgradeâ when he actually charged us for all of it. It was a few hundred dollars worth of stuff we did not need but he told us it was included and got the most expensive things because of that (word for word what we were told). We were able to return the cases and charging ports but not the liquid glass that he put on both of our phones without even asking (which cost us $130). Also, he gave us credit for trading in my phone but not for my husbandâs (which were the exact same phones and both in great condition with no cracks or scratches). We had to go back to the store and ask them to add the credit for his phone- another $440 we wouldâve lost if we had not checked and gone back. We have a newborn and spending time going back to the store to get our money back was such an inconvenience . When we went back and expressed our frustration with his dishonesty, the representative just kept saying we misunderstood Ethan and that it was our fault we misunderstood. This is the closest Verizon dealer to my house and my phone was having some reception trouble so I went in to see if they could help me. Both employees were nice enough and tried to help me with my problem. I explained my situation and they agreed to take a look at my phone. I explained what I had already tried and they tried a few additional software setting tweaks, but the tweaks ended up being things I had already tried. We discussed that it could be possible that my SIM card was not working properly because it was ~4 years old. I asked them if I could get a replacement SIM card and they said yes, but it would be a $10 charge. I told them I had received a SIM card from Verizon in the past and that it had been free. They told me that they can no longer do that because people had been getting free SIM cards from them and selling them online. That seemed weird to me, but I didn't argue. I didn't want to pay $10 for a SIM card that may or may not have solved my problem, so I thanked them for their help and left. I ended up going to an official Verizon store (not an authorized dealer) and they checked out my phone and replaced my SIM card at NO COST. If I had gone with the advice of this store I would unnecessarily be out $10.

They have this âset up and goâ fee for $40 that you donât have to pay, and you can do it by yourself at home for free, but the salesman there up charged my wife for $40 for each of the phones and did not even do anything to do the set ups for what the fee was originally there for. The guy totally ripped us off and told my wife âwe have to charge this because you came into the store and thatâs our policyâ. I called Verizon customer support and they totally called out this guy for his BS that he was saying. And they had to reverse all of those charges because he didnât do a dang thing for what that fee or that charge was for. Additionally, Verizon has Said that they were going to come down on him and discipline him for unethical business practices. Because If he has done this to my family and he did it so smoothly in such a way that my wife felt flustered and was unable to Say no to the charges, I know he has done this unethical work to other people. I can only wonder how much this place has ripped people off and how much money theyâve Gained over the years with this car salesman tactic.
