We were on our way to Daytona for the race when we lost our water pump and we're desperately trying to limp out way to a parts store at best and home at worst. Unfortunately home was more than 100 miles away. We stopped in Island Thrift to escape the heat while our car cooled down for the next shot at getting closer to help. The owner (I assume, in our distress I really didn't catch a name) was kind to us, letting us sit in the AC and offering kindness in our moment of trouble. I think she even stayed open a bit longer so we could rest a little more in the cool air. I hope if you are thinking about shopping here you do, this woman offered kindness when she wasn't required to and that's not something in abundance today. If you get to read this and remember us I want you to know we made it to our hotel safe and sound. We're heading back home to Polk county as we speak.
