Very bad experience and the worse impression I got from my first assessment visit. To be fair i have to mention that the front desk lady was nice and professional .. so was the gentleman (the Hygienist) but the doctor who saw me was mean, prejudice and very non informative. i had seen many staff just walking in and start talking to me without introducing themselves. so I had no idea of who is who .. very unprofessional and so confusing After taking my x rays .. the hygienist guy came ..(I thought for instant that he is the doctor) . He briefly explained the images of my x ray while standing in the hallway but kept saying that the Dr. will decide .. that is when i knew he was not the doctor. the doctor finally came in .. She immediately lowered the chair down in a very uncomfortable way and without any prior notification. I almost fell back - and was struggling to keep my body up. Then she started checking my teeth ..I was never given a chance to ask questions about what is going on or what is needed as far as the plan that is being prepared for the intended treatment .. I was attempting to ask some questions but was interrupted and was never given a chance to finish a complete sentence. The dr. seemed to be in a rush and as soon as finished checking my jaws and x rays images , she stormed out of the room as she has no time for me or maybe does not want to answer my inquiries - instead she stated that she will be right back .. and booom gone !!
Another new person come .. had no idea who is she .. and now I was dragged to the office manager who supposed to explain the financial aspect of the treatment plan. I tried to explain that I had some questions to the dr. but my concern was not considered. I by all mean was not comfortable to jump into discussing my financial plan cost without having a clear idea from the dr. of what the plan details are !! Right at that moment I made my decision that I will not proceed with this office right at the manager desk as she also was rude, would not let me ask any question to understand the details of the treatment plan, to the point that I asked the manager specifically if she would let me finish my sentence without interrupting me !!! She was just concerned to tell me that cost figure $ 10,000 . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To me, frankly the whole issue was not money .. it is about being a human, it is about trust and feeling comfortable ... specially with the dr who will be sticking her fingers in my mouth for next several weeks .. and if she has no time to listen to my questions from the start .. then she will probably will never respond to any of my concerns in the future .. also she lied when she pretended and claimed that she will be right back while I was trying to ask my questions and she left the room in a very unprofessional way and ended my assessment session without a proper closure. This was a bad unpromising and unencouraging experience .. I am glad i did not commit and I will never go back - instead I will go...
Read moreI have to give praise where praise is due! I decided to call Aspen and schedule a routine exam, get x-rays and a cleaning. I had no intention of letting anyone do work on my teeth other than my usual dentist. After meeting the friendly staff and getting comprehensive x-rays I met Dr. Trangaris, I really lucked out!
I take very good care of my teeth but have lost a tooth and just got an implant due to not getting preventative information in the past so I was skeptical of her at first. As soon as I met her and had my consultation I knew that I was in EXCELLENT HANDS! She is a tried and true professional, down to earth and cares about her patients.
She sat with me, viewed my x-rays and explained how I could prevent future damage in addition to restoring and maintaining my existing teeth. No one has ever done this for me. If I had a consultation like this in the past I would have never had to get an implant! She is a perfectionist, and really cares about her patients oral health. She also has a wonderful personality and creates a comfortable atmosphere in the office!
I sat with Renee and got my treatment plan. Though it may seem like a lot of money to some, depending on what you get done, a healthy smile and oral health is priceless! Taking care and preventing future damage is priceless! Renee showed me my treatment plan, we switched it around a bit, and set a realistic goal of what I could get done. If you are honest with them it helps, don't be shy to speak what is really going on with your budget and finances for dental work, there are many options available!
I went back, had my cleaning with the hygienist Kelly . She was FANTASTIC! She even showed me what I was lacking with my flossing and very gentle around my sensitive areas.
I went back and had Dr. Trangaris do 2 fillings. She took two emergency patients who were having a really hard time. She was very caring with them, understanding (one guy was very nervous) and she still took care of me as well, she multi-tasked giving 200% (not 100%)!!! I have had to have emergency work so I understood. She didn't even get to eat dinner she worked straight through.
I have since recommended all of my family and friends. Also my co-workers. I am never the one to refer a dentist but in this case I would be doing those I care about an injustice if I didn't.
I am a patient of Dr. Trangaris for life! I trust this beautiful smile to only the best from this day forward. They are an awesome team, go see them, don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed. If you want a dedicated dentist who really cares and will be honest with you, educate you and help you save your teeth go see her! If you have any questions or want to see pictures of my teeth just...
Read moreWhen I left the facility I thought the check up on my irritated gums went ok, but after my girlfriend & mom asked me a few basic questions about how bad my tooth is I realized I walked away with no real information or options from Aspen Dental. I was not shown the x-rays they had to take three times (two side shots of tooth but then decided to x-ray my entire mouth), no explanation if there was any option to save my tooth, no mention that removing my tooth could alter my bite/teeth alignment, no mention of the tooth number, and they gave me no paper work or even a receipt for $87 I paid for the check up. I had trusted Aspen Dental would have mentioned or shown me these things as their commercials imply that Aspen Dental would give me a clear understanding of my Dental needs and provide me with options. I feel instead that Aspen Dental is trying to funnel me into the easiest solution for Aspen Dental and doesn’t really care about my personal oral health. I called another dentist to get a second opinion, they asked for copies of the x-rays since there is no reason for them to x-ray me again a week later; plus there is no medical reason why I should have radiation (x-rays) shot through my head a fourth time. I called Aspen Dental to request copies of the x-rays and medical notes, so I could get a 2nd dental opinion. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get the medical records because it had to be approved by head office. I am currently in pain with infected gums. The thought that I have wait two additional weeks for medical records that are already in a computer (and x-rays records which are recorded digitally) seems callous and apathetic to a patient in pain. I was told I could request paper copies of records for the next day (which requested), but paper copies are not the same as the x-ray records and may still result in me having to medically unnecessarily have additional x-rays due to Aspen Dentals bureaucratic delays. Overall I walked away with the experience that Aspen Dental is not interested in informing patients of their medical options nor interested in easily allowing patients in significant pain to get 2nd dental opinions before major...
