Grayson Stadium — Attraction in Savannah

There are two parts to this review. One for the stadium and one for the Savannah Bananas.

Review 1: the stadium is historic as stated. Not in the greatest condition but that’s what makes it historic. The crew definitely makes it functional and presentable.

Review 2: the Savannah Bananas. WOW! What a fun time. It is definitely overwhelming at first. The speakers are insanely loud. I’m not old but dang turn it down just a notch lol. Secondly, there are things going on everywhere and while I was watching one thing I missed another. Lastly, during the game the home plate umpire dropped the America flag! Show or not. That is not acceptable and many people in the crowd lost interest after it happened. Luckily, the flag was picked up quickly by a staff member on the side. I can only hope in good faith it has been retired properly and a new flag has been purchased. Now, overall, the atmosphere is great. The wait outside before the game is insane and hot, a gray show none the less...

It was great when we had an actual baseball team, but now it's home to some lame summer league of high school prospects called the Bananas. The games are aweful displays of petty crowd pandering. Instead of good ball, you get oh look the team is line dancing, oh look son it's an elvis impersonator, oooo look it's a lame ass dude in a yellow suit running around cheesing up the crowd. All of this is bad enough, now throw in the worst ballpark food ever. Dinky dogs, dried out burgers and over cooked bland chicken sandwiches....all sitting in warmer trays instead of being freshly grilled. For like 7 dollars you get all you can eat of this repulsive trough food.....yuck and no thanks. For fresher options you can order the awesomely disgusting trailer park nachos where they chop up the same gross burgers and dogs and put that on corn chops with nacho cheese and canned chili all plated on a garbage pail lid. I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone...

2024 update: VIB experience. Definitely worth doing it once!!! The stadium has been updated to hold an additional 1000 fans. The outfield looks like it’s in considerably better shape than 2 years ago. The routines are new, but the high energy remains. If you get a chance to come, do so… if you can bring the family… even better!

2022: What a great experience! Thoroughly enjoyed the show! I wish more tickets were available at the normal price, but resell market is what it is. The players are awesome, the value of the tickets are exceptional, just the atmosphere created by the group was so much fun. I do wish the fields were in a little better conditions for the players, but that the only criticism I could actually come up with. Definitely worth being the family here! Get there at least an hour early if you want to find seats…. Maybe 2 hrs early, if you have a...
