I only gave one star bc I had to in order to post this. This is my first google review post. That’s how bad it was. I went in with my daughter today on Mother’s Day to see if she could find something to buy for her boyfriend’s mother. My daughter was planning on paying for the gift and she is a frugal shopper not like her mother. When we went to check out and the very nice employee assisting the owner/mgr at the register asked my daughter if it was a gift and she replied yes. The owner/mgr replied out loud we DON’T gift wrap clearance. We have already lost money on it. I was appalled!! 1-not my problem (talk to the buyers) 2- She should have trained her employee after it was wrapped it instead of stating it in-front of the customer. 3- not that it matters but we have spent a lot of money in that store of the years being scituate residents. 4- All customers should be treated equally no matter how much they spend. 5 - She needs to be trained on manners. I use to refer people to her as I am in the design business. I build homes as a construction and interior designer. But I will no longer shop there and will share this story with EVERYONE. We were at JOYE also getting last minute gifts and the woman not only wrapped the gift she put a bow on with a broken finger which is when I assisted on the bow bc it’s the kind thing to do and shows respect. I have heard rumors about the snooty ambience but never witnessed it until today. Happy Mother’s Day to the employee who was very sweet and I want you to know you weren’t wrong to ask.
