Daveās Astanga turned into āAuthentic Yogaā during my training where I paid to give my knowledge to others. Sure I was taught yoga, but more was taught who was in the room abusing power. A year ago I posted my honest review and Cheryl had a handful of people posting about how great she is. I taught yin, essential oils and kids yoga to her students for free just to be completely embarrassed for her in the long run. A student asked me to lunch one day stating how she didnāt like what she was receiving from training and wanted to go to a training near her house instead; I advised to have an open conversation with Cheryl so that way she could gain what she was looking for. The next training day, mind you Cheryl was never present in any of my classes inside or outside of her studio {or was she?} Cheryl decided to say a few choice words regarding me and how I apparently spit on my students. She didnāt use my name to the 20+ people in the room. Just to then take a small snack break where Iām offering my snack to others as Iām spitting on it. And is it normal for yoga instructors to send you black dresses in the mail to later find out āyou were hung in the darkā putting it on. Or how about going through reiki sessions and having energy loop around inside of me, around my ovary being told my triplets just turned into a solo baby. Better yet, is it normal to sign a marriage license on a marriage you didnāt witness during your training hours. Or how about going from a great yin teacher to not being able to teach yin classes around the valley all while simultaneously watching Cheryl go from a Vedic chant teacher and astanga teacher to then focusing on yin. Be careful who you pay for services. Whatever games are being played arenāt authentic. If only I listened to my gut. I strongly believe Dave would be highly disappointed to see his studio turn into what itās become. Hope my ID signature family and future babies are safe after I submit this post for the third time. Wouldnāt want to be riddled with cancer or anything. Also never hand your RX glasses to anyone. In 2018 five different people used them to harm me. Two of them in this studio, she asked for them put them on, rubbed my left knee, checked in with Cheryl then handed em back. Later to be advised by a witch that the eyes are the pathway to your soul. May God heal all who were harmed in or out of this space by āteachersā teaching me things I would never consent to. Is it normal to be in a forward fold and watch the instructor across the room give the go ahead with a nod to pull energy out of your right hip? To years later get it back through a phone call and have it taken in a phone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl Oliver while she was teaching Sanskrit & Yoga Philosophy in my 200 hour YTT at a Motto Yoga. She was a guest teacher there and I remember being completely in awe of her from the moment she walked in. Cheryl is a living, breathing example of the 8 Limbs of Yoga. She generously shares her wealth of knowledge with her students!
When it came time for me to dive deeper into my practice & teaching, I was looking at several options in the valley for 300 Hour YTT. When I reached out to Cheryl to inquire about her program, I quickly realized how open, flexible, customizable and affordable her program was, I stopped looking around and signed up. I am so glad I did, it was life changing.
This program was so well rounded with a variety of workshops, classes & teachers to choose from. A wide range of topics were covered including history of yoga, anatomy, meditation, sequencing, adjustments, sound meditation, yin, yoga nidra, ashtanga series, and so much more.
Cheryl was always available for questions and feedback throughout the program She also taught several of the classes which were always my favorite!
After graduating from the program and with Cheryl's guidance and encouragement, I now have the honor of teaching in her 200 & 300 hour programs. Cheryl is a true yogi with a kind and humble heart. She makes learning fun and exciting! 10/10 recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBefore I embarked upon my 500 hour teacher training, I did a thorough vetting of my options, including seeking out the advice from other yoga teachers in the Scottsdale area.
One name kept resurfacing as the optimal option, and that was Authentic Yoga Teacher Training with Cheryl Oliver. After a short back and forth with Cheryl explaining how the YTT operated, I without hesitation signed up. She offered a fair payment plan and was genuinely excited for me to start.
I enjoyed taking workshops and classes with a variety of teachers on a wide range of subjects, (notably Cheryl!) including mantra, mythology, anatomy, sequencing, adjustments, sound meditation, Yoga Nidra, and so much more.
Cheryl was always available if I had a question or concern, and I was able to trust her implicitly. I tend to be a somewhat skeptical and guarded person, and people must earn my respect and adoration with thoughts, words, and actions. I knew immediately Cheryl was one of the "good ones."
I have since went on to create my own 200 hour YTT program, and Cheryl, being my mentor, was one of my guest educators. My students RAVED about her presentation, and I would argue it was the highlight of their training. I can't recommend AYTT and Cheryl any more highly! 5 stars, your expectations will...
