Fall 2025 Update: we went in for a sick visit today (post a mild chocolate incident the night before). When we were brought into the room, there were treat pieces from the previous patient on the floor that the tech picked up, after an awkward moment that I thought she was going to let my dog eat. Once we were checked in, we waited 45 minutes with no contact. As we were leaving without being seen, we could see the techs sitting on their computers, chatting. The practice was not bustling, and the adjoining rooms were open. They may have forgotten we were there. It was an incredibly disappointing experience considering the excellent service we’d received previously. If you don’t show up for your appointment, they charge you $50, so the same respect should be given to an owners time. I am so glad that this was a precautionary follow up. The dirty patient room and inattentiveness was such a 180 from what we’ve grown to know and love about this practice.
February 2025: Excellent experience! We initially came to Petfolk because my 4 year old French Bulldog had a tummy bug. The staff and vet were so caring and kind. We weren’t rushed, and they were incredibly engaged in his care. They offer an annual package for $199 that waives appointment costs and gives a discount on preventative care, medication and labs. After making a full recovery, we returned today for our routine care, including inoculations and heartworm testing. We were promptly received by the doctor at our appointment time, with little to no waiting. We made it out the door for a little over $300, after they answered all of my questions, addressed potential concerns and discussed every facet of the examination. My frenchie is so comfortable there that he just splays in the floor and is excited to see everyone when they come back. The patient rooms are so clean and the equipment is state of the art. Everyone who participated in his care was top notch. I cannot say enough positive things about them, or the facility. It’s the best veterinary experience. Read moreOur pug, Stitch, went in for respiratory issues and received fantastic care from Dr. Johanna DeKing and veterinary nurse, Ashley. Digital X-rays gave a crystal clear depiction, and despite our pug having a lot of character to his body (he’s rocking the rolls), Dr. DeKing was able to get a great lymph node sample from him. He was treated with xtra TLC, was given a lot of affection, adoration, and attention from staff. We were not at all rushed, we thoroughly considered possible etiology together, I was so pleased with the amount of time we were given. Office was clean, very cute, and staff was so kind. Dr. DeKing even took the time to explain the minute medical details to my daughter who is aspiring to become a veterinarian, which was so kind. Ashley was probably the best veterinary nurse I have experienced. She was friendly, kind, compassionate, and had fantastic technique with her hold. Dr. Johanna DeKing and Ashley are everything one would want in a veterinary team. Dr. DeKing is not just a veterinarian, she is a compassionate educator, a skilled practitioner, an excellent resource, and a partner who is truly available to you throughout your beloved pet’s medical journey. Read moreJust started bringing my fur babies here and our experience has been wonderful. I’ve been trying to find a good vet that I could stick with on this side of town and I think I’ve found it! The warm aesthetic of the hospital makes it feel less sterile and “scary” for my pets and the staff was more than happy to give me a tour of the facility my first time there. I liked that my dog and I could walk to the back area together so I could put her at ease about being at the vet. She also got plenty of treats which was a big help. All the staff was very friendly and helpful to both of us. Dr. Deking sat right on the floor with my dog and was very thorough and gentle during all our examinations. She explained in detail what our options for treatment were and patiently answered all the questions I had. I left the appointment feeling like everyone genuinely cares versus just doing their job and sending us on our way. When my dog needed surgery, I received plenty of updates which put my mind at ease that she was in good hands. The prices for care were also better than what I’ve experienced at other hospitals.
