When I made my appointment things looked promising, the desk guy was nice and I’d followed the artists on social media for a while and liked what I saw. I scheduled it about a month and a half out or so with cody. I asked for an ouroboros wrap around my leg under my knee. Just the snake. Seemed simple enough. When I got there, Cody only had a stencil for the outline of the head. Which I thought was alright at best. But like I said, I followed the guy on social media and his work looked promising so I went against my gut and trusted the artist hoping that he would make something great out of something lackluster. When we went back he drew on the outline which looked a little thin, but I guess a snake of that length in real life wouldn’t be to thick. Once he started tattooing, I was breathing heavier because this was only my second tattoo and tattoos hurt?? Cody would MOCK my heavy breathing every like 10 minutes. I don’t think I need to explain why that made me upset. When he began on the scales is where the tattoo went from bad to embarrassing. Cody put about 1/4 of the scales on the snake that should’ve been on there. All spaced out unevenly. And that wasn’t even the worst part. Cody tattooed the scales on me FACING THE WRONG DIRECTION! Embarrassed and defeated I just let the guy finish what he was doing. When he would make a suggestion I would just tell him to do what he thought was good. When I went to pay, I definitely wasn’t going to leave a tip seeing how I already knew I was going to get it covered. When the front desk associate noticed I wasn’t leaving a tip, he claimed he forgot to charge me an extra $60 which is about what a tip would’ve come out to with the total. So they charged me a tip I intentionally left at 0. I was so frustrated I just paid and left. I ended up paying close to 400 for a glorified WORM. I emailed them about a week later when they sent out the usual “how was your experience?” Email. When I said I was unhappy , they replied “ that’s just Cody’s style of work” and then when I asked for a copy of the consent waiver I signed, they told me that they go through so many that it would take time to find it. I never received a copy of my waiver, which is something that should be filed in an organized and understandable way? I still follow Cody on social media to remind me that he does ( or at least posts) his good work. He ALSO has a strong tendency to trash talk customers on a frequent basis. Most of which I’m sure don’t have social media, seeing as he’s so comfortable going on 15 minute rants. Before i left the shop that day, I knew I was getting a cover up. I was embarrassed to show my legs and would have to explain myself every time someone saw it. I got it covered yesterday with a large floral piece and was emotional knowing that I wouldn’t have to be ashamed of my leg anymore. If a tattoo artist doesn’t like someone’s idea, they should turn people away Instead of intentionally doing a terrible job that left me with the feeling that it was because he disliked me as a person.I discourage everyone I can from going here in the fear that they have a similar...
Read moreI always told myself I would save my first review of a place or something for whenever I was truly blown away. This is it. This is my first review ever. Words cannot even describe how grateful I am I chose to go to Cornerstone. First of all, I love corgis. Anyone who knows me knows I love corgis. This was my first tattoo ever and everyone asked me if it was going to be a corgi. Cody was so awesome and actually brought Snoop in because I had messaged and asked him. When I tell you I almost shed a tear I was so excited, I mean it. I had to try so hard not to giggle from being overjoyed whenever he'd trot around while I was getting my tattoo. Second of all, the guy who did my tattoo, Smalls, was incredible. He was fast and super detail oriented, especially for the size of my tattoo. He was a super chill guy and made the process a lot less scary for someone who had never gotten a tattoo before, especially me who gets nervous about everything. The amount of complements I have received from this tattoo is insane. I’ve had someone’s jaw literally drop. I cannot wait to go back for more. If you’re looking for a place to get a tattoo, this is...
Read moreWent in to CSTG just to check things out and decide if I wanted to pursue a new tattoo. I had checked out a local shop near me and felt that I was bothering them with my questions and ideas. I was not alone in this because others with me felt the same vibe.
Decided to hit up CSTG on a Friday and walked in and was met with a young lady in the waiting area who had just received a tattoo. We chatted a bit and I felt that I was in the right place. She went back and got Cody who was more than gracious with his time and patience. He listened to my ideas and offered his professional opinions and advice on what I should/could do, and what I should not do. I decided on an off-the-wall out of character idea and Cody researched it right in front of me and came up with the design! I swallowed hard and manned up and he inked me right then and there!! I am very pleased with it and more than recommend Cody and CSTG.
I am contemplating other ideas and Cody provided me with an initial design to ponder while my new tattoo sinks in and heals. I will be back and will get on Cody's list in the near future.
CSTG rocked... do yourself a favor...
