Unpleasant Encounter with Oscar
Having enjoyed a delightful lunch at Señor Taco on a previous visit, I eagerly recommended it to my family for dinner during our Senoia excursion, especially after a Walking Dead Tour. The initial experience was positive, with a brief wait time and prompt service, complemented by chips, salsa, and queso. However, the evening took a downturn as we delved into our entrees and drinks.
Issues arose when my sister and cousin, desiring fresh jalapeños for their tacos, received green peppers instead. The tacos were marred by excessive grease due to the undrained ground beef, and my cousin's mojito was poorly crafted, prompting her request for a replacement with a margarita. Additionally, the ground beef lacked seasoning, adding to the culinary letdown.
Despite these culinary challenges, we remained accommodating. However, matters escalated when my cousin and sister found the margaritas unsatisfactory, describing them as "very syrupy" and lacking any discernible alcohol content. My sister barely consumed half of her drink, while my cousin took only one sip.
As we settled our bills, my cousin courteously asked the waitress to remove the poorly made margarita from her tab. The waitress, upon inspecting the drink and noting its minimal consumption, sought the assistance of the manager, Oscar. Unfortunately, rather than engaging in a constructive discussion or explaining the establishment's policy, Oscar retorted, "Well, you ordered it!" His response, delivered with an unwarranted tone and volume, prompted my cousin to calmly state, "No worries, we are not here to argue; I'm happy to pay." Regrettably, Oscar persisted in talking over her, emphasizing that she must pay for the drink. Even after my reassurance that we were content to settle the bill and depart, Oscar rolled his eyes, turned away, and walked off.
The combative and dismissive manner in which Oscar addressed my family was disheartening. While my personal experience at Señor Taco has left a sour taste, I hope others have a more positive encounter at the establishment. Despite my reluctance to return, I trust that our experience serves as an isolated incident and that future patrons may enjoy a more...
Read moreThe owner asked for feedback on my rating. I try to give places leeway even if they do not make the best impression when I am there. However, since the owner wanted a breakdown of the issues he is my reply:
Food was good, no issues.
Service was not the best. Drinks has something left over in them from washing. Pieces of something were floating around in the drinks. The water I was drinking was fine, but the drink my wife received was not what she ordered, had flakes of ?? floating around and the waiter decided to question if she really wanted a replacement or if the drink was okay to have stuff floating around in the drink. (The drink was just a standard drink with no mint or anything that should have been obvious.) Drink was eventually replaced after floor manager was called and the drink was given another hard look. The glass was still full since she never took a drink after seeing the flakes so I guess it was going to be an issue/cost to just bring replacement.
We split a meal between us, due to myself eating earlier. It was good we did not need any additional service because never saw our waiter again until the check was dropped. I would not have minded a little extra water, but I had a bottle of water in the truck so I was eventually fine.
After check, all plates were immediately removed, along with half full drink my wife was still working on, so I paid for $15 for her to get half the drink. At least the staff was extremely quick with the clean up and table turn around, because check came back within seconds.
The owner can not do anything about the noise during lunch but they can let the staff know it is not the best to constantly brush/touch the customers when eating as they move thru the dining area. ( We were placed at one of the center table between booths, so staff was using the space between our table and the next as a cut thru to the kitchen.) After the third time taking a hip to the shoulder as they cut thru I was pretty much done. The most ironic part it was never our waiter, who never came back by, but everyone else's.
Sorry about the long review but the owner seemed to want a breakdown of...
Read moreI'm so frustrated with this restaurant. I went on a Saturday night around 6.30 and asked for a table for 4. I was quoted a 15-20 minute wait with only two tables ahead of us. No problem, that's totally reasonable for a Saturday night.
While we waited, I noticed several tables being sat that came in after us, but it hadn't been long, so we continued to wait. When the couple we were meeting arrived 15-20 minutes after we first signed in, they didn't see us, so they also added their name to the list and we're quoted 15-20 minutes.
We went back up at about 25 minutes, when we realized to return their pager. I could see on the list several additions had been made after us, and they had all been seated already (including a 12 top). We returned the extra beeper and asked how much longer the wait would be, and were told another 20 minutes. At this point, we would be closing in on an hour wait so I started to get frustrated.
The hostess could not explain why all these tables had been seated ahead of me, and even pointed to the list, agreeing that we had somehow been skipped with another table. She assured us she would seat us right away, but proceeded to seat THREE MORE TABLES. I approached AGAIN, which was when the hostess finally grabbed our menus and said she was seating us now.
Our server was working her butt off, and did a great job, but I'm so frustrated with the horrible treatment by the hostess team. I'm not one to complain typically, and I'm so frustrated I have to speak up just to get service I should be receiving anyway. To be skipped multiple times and to not have any explanation or apology just feels awful. I don't think we'll continue...
