I have been to Shades numerous times for different services and have always been treated nicely except for this evening. When I walked in, Chai started telling me that she had been trying to call me for days regarding my notes that I added when I booked my service. I booked a full dip powder by the way but wasn't sure that it was what I actually needed, but it tuned out it was. Chai just kept going on and on about how I needed a full powder dip service and I told her numerous times that it was fine and that I actually booked a full dip powder service on-line. She just wouldn't leave me alone and even followed me over to the couch after I checked in to tell me one more time that I needed a full powder dip. I again for the 3rd time, informed her that I was fine with that and told her again that's what I actually booked on-line. She was extremely rude to me, almost like she was wanting me to walk out or something. It was actually very strange behavior. When she started to wrap my fingers up, she continued speaking to me very rudely and basically telling me that they couldn't touch up my gel toenail polish unless it was the same color that was already on there. The other sweet girl, who actually put the original color on my toenails 2 weeks prior, told me that she would find the same color for me before she left for the day. This Chai girl continued to repeat to me that they could not do my toes because I did not know the color that was on them. The other girl finally found my original color so Chai finally kept her mouth shut. Thank goodness Tram was the one who actually touched up my toe color and did my dip powder because I was ready to walk out if Chai was going to work on me. Hopefully Chai is good at doing nails/toes, etc as her attitude is awful. She comes across extremely snooty too. All the other girls in there are so nice and friendly and go out of there way to make you feel welcome. They all do such a great job. Tram was super sweet and did such an awesome job, my nails and toenails...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe salon is lovely, but I wonāt be going back due to my experience. Followed 2 really great nail techs from another salon. Was talked into doing the Dip process. Four of my nails chipped in two days. Texted the one who did my nails, and she said she was off, but I should call the salon. I did so and made an appt to go in. Calvin removed the top coat from all nails and put the Dip top coat on. When I originally had them done the gel top coat was applied. Thought my issue was fixed. Two days later, chipping started again. Texted my tech again to tell her that in 4 days, 8 nails had chipped. Told her I was just letting her know and was asking for nothing, thinking she would know this wasnāt a good business practice and would redo my nails. I was a regular at the other salon for 4 years! She just texted back that she was sorry I had that happen. Well, as of yesterday, they have now all chipped. Yesterday was 10/30 and I had them originally done on 10/19 and āfixedā on 10/22! I was charged $75 for a Dip mani and regular pedi and left a $15 tip. Thus, in my estimation, a waste of $90 cash. If I had used a CC, I could file a disputeālesson to be learned. I think the product used was probably not good or perhaps a Dip step was missed. Never having had that procedure before, I really donāt know. Hate to leave great nail techs, and a nice salon, but when someone does not value my business nor take care of me, I refuse to add to their income. Hope everyone else who goes there never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a really nice salon and the people that work there are very nice and welcoming the majority of the time.. there are a few that play around and are immature, but it doesnāt seem to impact the overall atmosphere and environment as Iāve been multiple times. Iāve had a few good experiences, which is why Iāve visited a few times however, if I could provide some constructive criticism, it would be to number one make sure that they are consistent with their offerings. There have been a few times that Iāve gone for services and theyāve tried to tell me that they couldnāt offer them even though they just did it for me in a previous appointment or Iāve seen them do it with another client. Number two, I would like for them to focus more on actual mail care and health. Iāve mentioned several times when Iāve been there that I am post cancer and asked them to either use a file or go lightly on the drill and they still proceeded to drill my nails down to being paper thin which is not healthy. And number three offer more services that are popular for example Structure and luminary gel or the option to have a gel toenail put on or an acrylic overlay would be attractive. Lastly, the new massage chairs, barely massage. They look really gorgeous, but if you are looking to get a decent chair massage while getting a pedicure, itās sub par. If Iām in a crunch, I would definitely visit this salon again only if my nails are an optimal health otherwise I feel like I would leave with my nails in worse condition...
