Some food you just can’t get off of your mind. Some food immediately sends you somewhere deep in your memories, to a place or time when you felt the deep content of being well loved, before you were worried about traffic or money or global warming. This food is that feeling, of being well loved, of being considered and appreciated. We dined at an odd time of day, and had the place entirely to ourselves which seems impossible given the quality of this food. The atmosphere is modern, a little romantic, it feels like a great spot for a first date. The menu has a bit of something for everyone. We started with stuffed grape leaves (dolmades), which tasted fresh, lemony, and well made. Our waitress, Lisa (I think, I’m terrible with names) offered to serve them warm, since many guests request it, which we declined but I appreciated. It seemed like a very graceful way to point out that it’s (usually) a cold dish, without making anyone feel awkward. :) I got the lamb chops. They were STUNNING. Served a beautiful medium/med rare, they were seasoned well, juicy, and the texture was heavenly. I love lamb, I eat it often, have had lots of preparations in a lot of restaurants- this beats all of them. If you think you don’t like lamb, let Rodos change your mind. It came with a lovely seasoned rice and roasted veg. It was beautifully plated, and delicious. My spouse got Moussaka. We’ve had the dish many times, but I snuck a bite and no joke, got emotional. It’s from scratch, it’s perfectly cooked, it’s balanced and somehow both comforting and light. My spouse agreed it was the best version of that dish, ever. For dessert, I had chocolate cake and my spouse had cheese cake, and both were divine. The service was prompt, extremely helpful and personable, and the owner/Chef, Erion Permeti, popped out to chat a bit about his deep passion for food. He mentioned he makes everything with love, as if he were serving it to his own kids. It shows in every bite. This might be a bit more pricey than your average gyro spot- but not by much, and the quality is well worth a few extra bucks....
Read moreClean. Consistent. Fresh Ingredients. Fair pricing and good portions. Friendly Staff. I hit them up often, as I live within 5 minutes. So I am typically able to pickup as the food as it comes out of the kitchen.
I've only had one small issue in the past, sometime after opening, and they absolutely made it right.
I've posted a few pics, separate from my review. I thought I'd already review them, but I guess not lol
This place was opened during a very difficult time for small business owners and I think they've done a great job of making it work thus far.
The fries are lightly battered and one of my favorite things there! The Steak kabobs were a perfect medium and very tender. The accompanied salad was a Greek salad with Balsamic Vinegarette, also good. The Gyros, I like the traditional best. The chicken gyro was good and you could taste the fresy grilled chicken.
Desserts were good too. The Torta is similar in texture to a wet rum cake, in the middle. Also has nuts and cherry. No my cup of tea, but was good. The Zupa custard is spot though! It's a very light and fluffy custard that's only slightly sweetened. Perfect for those not wanting something that's going to overload you with sugars. Their Baklava is very traditional and makes a good addition...
Read moreFirst time at this restaurant for lunch and we were greeted by friendly staff, a very clean restaurant, and a great menu at reasonable prices.
Lisa, our waitress, was phenomenal. We had the fried zucchini, the truffle burger, and penne alla vodka with chicken.
Despite the busy restaurant we were served quickly and the food was fresh and hot. The fried zucchini was well seasoned and the breading was perfect.
The truffle burger was gourmet (wish I took a picture) and the fries may be the best in Columbus, no joke.
The penne alla vodka had great sauce, shaved Parmesan, and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly! It was not dry or overcooked like you get a lot with these dishes, I loved it. And it came with a salad…. For $15!!
For what you get the prices are excellent. We left to go boxes for another meal - superb value.
Also, looks like they have a solid happy hour. I’ll be back to check...
