West Flanders Park — Attraction in Shawnee

Great place to run! I've been starting to try and run every day to lose some weight and hopefully get to the point where I can start cutting (working out to gain strength and not muscle), and I found that West Flanders Park is the perfect place for it. It's in a great area, I've never felt unsafe there and I've been going there for years. It's always very clean, and while this has nothing to do with the quality of the park or how it's maintained I've only ever met good quality people there. The other day I even had an old woman cheer me on when I ran past her! The only complaints I can think of are that the playground could be a little bit better maintained. Two of the slides are boarded up and it's clearly a bit withered, showing the effects years of play have had on it. Other than that it's a great location and if you ever want to get out take a walk or just enjoy the outdoors I really recommend giving it a visit! (Edit: The the concrete paths there are great! Great park! It has many amenities such as benches along the path. , trash cans/recycle bins, 2 gazebos for gatherings, provided dog poo bags at the beginning of the trail, a well kept garden, playground of course and my favorite, the restrooms. The path loop is about .5 miles. The park is well kept and clean. People who walk here are friendly, in a great location. Well-lit at night and close to the road. If I am here by myself, I don’t ever feel unsafe, day or night. The only drag is some people don’t really pay attention to the “flow” of the path. There aren’t rules on which direction to travel, but you would think most people would be considerate when it comes to Covid. Also, it’s not a bike path but people take it upon themselves and almost run you over without using proper bike etiquette!...
