I really wanted to love this place, I found it on IG and was excited to try it. When we walked in the place is humid with a hint of mold in the air. The decor is nice but the mold leaves you wondering if it's in the building itself. If you aren't allergic to mold you may not notice it. The owner, Jay, was there and at first he seemed like a nice guy telling us to trust him he can make us drinks we would like, but he didn't ask us what we liked. The first drinks that came out were good, the one I received was Passion Fruit and I don't care for passion fruit but the drink was pretty good. The second drink I ordered was the Strawberry Spritz, this drink was extremely tart. When Jay asked if I liked it, I let him know I thought it was very tart. He took offense to this and started rattling off the ingredients in it and talking to me like I should've known to expect such tartness. He raised his voice and seemed very upset by my comment. All I said was, "it's very tart." After his little tantrum he seemed to calm himself down and said he would make me something else and started cleaning the table and took my napkin. You have to ask for napkins so I asked him if he could leave my napkin, he seemed upset about this too and said he would bring me another one. Everything up to that point was fine but his attitude ruined it. I didn't feel safe after that and honestly the drink he brought me after that had flowers in it and I am allergic to flowers. I didn't say anything because I didn't want another blow up at the table, so I didn't drink it. I Left...
Read moreWe went in here today with a reservation for drinks! Love that they have non-alcoholic options, and every single drink we ordered was delicious. There were two main issues that kept this from being a great experience - first, it was maybe 55-60 degrees with STRONG vents blowing on almost all tables inside. Yes, Kansas summers are hot, but this was so cold inside that I was very uncomfortable my entire time there. I saw multiple people leave to grab jackets from their cars. You shouldn’t need a jacket to sit inside and have a cocktail in the summer, and the level of air conditioning is horrible for the environment. Second, our server just wasn’t very friendly at all. When we asked questions, her responses made us feel a little dumb. When we asked if there was a place to move because of the frigid air blowing on our table, she basically said “there’s nothing I can do about it” and pointed to a different table then walked away. She even gave us our tab with someone else’s credit card sitting on it, then when she realized the issue, just reached over us, grabbed it, and said “I screwed that up” and walked away. Just was not a friendly service experience that we hoped for trying a new place. All that being said, the drinks were good enough that I can see us giving this place one more shot! If you visit, make sure you...
Read moreWild Child is a hidden gem that transports you far from the ordinary. From the moment I stepped in, the bar's welcoming atmosphere and exceptional attention to detail were immediately apparent. Emily, the staff member who assisted my party, was not just friendly, but truly outstanding—her knowledge, patience, and attentiveness elevated the entire experience.
During my visit, I was delighted by the creative cocktails, which were as visually stunning as they were delicious. In a serendipitous moment, I found myself chatting with the bartender, only to discover he was actually the owner—a testament to his humble and approachable nature. His passion for craft cocktails and genuine hospitality shines through every interaction.
The bar's ambiance is nothing short of magical, with a beautiful design that makes you feel like you've escaped to another world. The carefully curated music added another layer of enjoyment to the evening, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night out.
