Just left Old Shawnee Days and it was WORST experience EVER! I remember going in the past and yes it was busy but we were able to get food/drinks, and ride several rides within a couple of hours. Now it’s the same size but SO busier and more crowded. EVER line for any ride and even concession we’re a MILE long. Me and my 5yo waited in line for a ride for 30 MINUTES (she was so patient while waiting for her turn) then we get ALL the way to the front, it’s about to be our turn and then the guy running the ride wants to measure her height, she was 1/2 inch below the line and then he tells we can’t ride. ARE YOU SERIOUS! I did kind of lose it because I told him we’ve been in line for 30minutes, and I have SEEN kids her size or a little bit smaller that were getting on, AND if this ride has a height requirement then maybe they should put that at the end of the ride and not at the beginning because I couldn’t even see the height requirement because it was blocked by the people in line, and Really a 1/2inch and they couldn’t let her on. I was SO mad, we ended up leaving after that. Waste of time, waste of money, no crowd control. I will NEVER go back to Old Shawnee Days. Pure insanity...
Read moreExtremely long lines for the main rides! Need to space it out or cordanite it better. Also, food prices are outrageous 17$ for a turkey leg!! 10$ for slice of pizza 10$ for a bratwurst. Come on, this is a family event. It's mainly family's and teenage kids. They would sell more and make more money. The best vaule there was the Italian Ice Cream truck, kids ice cream come 3$ and was delicious and affordable for someone who had 8 kids with him. So shout out to them if you go stop by and check them out!! Tickets for the rides are reasonable 1$ a ticket and most big rides are 3 to 4 tickets each. Free concert live music was okay as well. The booths/tents had so really nice 👌 stuff to look at and buy. Over-all we had a great time, so I recommend going to Old...
Read moreOld Shawnee Days is such a great event that I have been attending for decades. There are rides, food, vendors, shows, & a parade. There are certain nights you can buy "all you can ride" wristbands for $30. This is worth it since most rides cost 4 tickets to get in. We went through $60 tickets quickly. Another item worth mentioning, you can buy tickets with a card but that line is usually the longest. Bring cash! It is preferred. The Shawnee police participate and their presence is well known which makes you feel safe, plus you can interact with them. There are lots of food choices, one of my favorite places to eat is the New City Church Tent, try their tex mex fries! There is so much do and see....
