Well, I spent quite some time constructing a post as to why I was very unhappy with Dave's appliance store. I cannot find the post so I am going to post another.
Last week I called the store and spoke with a female associate. I explained to her that I needed to get as much information as possible due to the fact that I am partially handicapped and it is very hard for me to come into the store.
She was very helpful and kind at that time. I told her I wanted a basic washer. I am not in need of any extra or fancy options. She mentioned that the most basic they have had auto water level option. I specifically asked her if it also had the regular levels as well like small, medium, large and extra large. She told me yes it did. It does not. She also told me you could us either option, you can not. It only had auto fill or deep water. There are other features to this washer that she did not mention. That may not be her fault. She obviously does not have all knowledge on the product. But considering that I was basing my purchase on trust of knowledge from the associate, I feel that it should have been mentioned.
When I called this morning to ask if they had any kind of return policy, I mentioned how very unhappy I was with this product. She cut me off several times while I tried to explain. She said I wanted the cheapest washer. I did not say the cheapest, I said basic.....there is a difference. She said it was not her fault that I choose that model. That is correct, but I did go on trust of knowledge, my mistake. Things aren't like they used to be. She also never mentioned that there is no return policy. I feel I should have been told that at the time of purchase as well.
But here is the biggest reason for being unsatisfied with Dave's appliance. She told me she had to put me on hold because she had a customer. I too am a customer. She has yet to come back. Not even to tell me that she will be with me as soon as she can or have another associate come to the phone. Or tell me me she will call me back.
What kind of customer service is that? I have a family member that is going to take this washer and I had all intentions of purchasing a different model. I am also in need of a new refrigerator. As you can guess I will not be getting them from Dave's appliance. I must say I'm sad. I have bought many appliance from them, since the early 70's.
I guess I should have checked the reviews and comments as they are not that great and not many considering how long they have been in business. But I did base it on past experiences which until now have been fine.
I assume she has no intentions of returning to my phone call as i am still on hold. 2 hours and 27 minutes.
That is pathetic, whether is is a satisfied customer or unsatisfied customer, it's totally unacceptable.

I am a business owner on Long Beach Island as well as is my grandfather and father. While having my house built I am renting a house that has all brand new appliance and was completely redone after the Hurricane Sandy. I faithfully only give my business to other local businesses, I do not believe in supporting the big box stores. When my dryer broke I called Dave's Appliance, the repair man didn't make it out until the following week, which is fine. He was polite, told me the issue and said the part would be in 2 days later and could be fixed, great! The woman, Christine in the office was horrible! She never order the part and made up the most odd excuses why. They told the owner of the house it had been fixed when they were telling me the part was still on back order. Long story short, it's been a month and I have never received a phone call, A MONTH! The 'back ordered' part was easily available at every parts store online I looked at, not sure what the problem was with there distributor but it makes me wonder, the part would have been simple for them to get. The girl then decided to blame it on UPS. I just am so put off by people who blame there own incompetence on other people. There is no reason for her to be in customer service. What she quoted to fix 1 simple piece was $340, which I was so irritated by waiting on I was willing to pay. But they still did not come through. When I finally spoke to the owner thinking I would get some satisfaction I was wrong. He was unbelievable ignorant and rude and made up another whole set of lies. I mean seriously, how hard is it to fix a dryer!? It's what you do for a living after all. I can't even figure out why this company is in business. I finally read other reviews and found about 8 all with the same stories on different websites besides google. Finally, still determined to keep with a small business I called Anchor Appliance and they fixed it the next day!! They were amazing, cheaper and even gave me a 10 percent discount. Read moreI have used Daves Appliance for years, both personally and for my business, with no problems. However, on my most recent experience was horrible to say the least. I dont know if they have a change in management or staff, but who ever is in charge should be fired. They have zero customer service skills or general business etiquette.
I called to have my dryer vent cleaned out, they came and did they work (Left my laundry room a COMPLETE DISASTER- for $100 they can at least clean up after them selves), but everything other then that seemed fine...until i tried to use my dryer a few days later. It didnt work.
I called an told them they need to come back out to fix whatever they did when they were there previously, so i can do laundry.After 3 weeks, of messages with no returned calls, I finally got through to someone and set up a follow up service call. They set the time and date, and never showed. This happened twice. Now, over a month later, i was finally able to get someone on the phone again (this was a friday), and they said they wouldnt come help me because they "didnt leave LBI on the weekends" - great business etiquette! They finally showed up after the weekend, claimed they wouldnt unclog the vent from the outside, even though they pushed all the stuff to the outside from the inside..and left. The guy said he would issue us a refund for the first appointment.
A few days later, instead of getting a refund check- I received another bill, for another $100 service call. I called daves appliance to tell them that this was clearly a mistake and I was not paying this bill, and of course, go figure, 2 weeks later and I havent heard from them since!
Do yourself a favor and CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE. This company is poorly run and I will never be...
