Farias Surf & Sport — Local services in Ship Bottom

I recently went into your store with my mother and daughter to shop. May I just make it clear now, we were prepared to spend a considerable amount of money. The sorority type sales-girls were absolutely AWFUL. Disrespectful, rude, I mean we didn't even get a hello! Furthermore, when we asked questions (normal questions you would ask a sales person) they barely looked us in the eyes and showed complete indifference. Actually, they were involved in their own private conversations and too busy trying on merchandise. Now, because I am an honest and fair person, I will say that the young lady at the register was nice and professional but it stops there. For lack of a better word, your staff SUCKS and I know for sure that I will never go back. I rather spend my money in a store who actually values...

Great shop. My son is relatively new to surfing. Rented a board from Farias. The attendant was friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. He really took time to discuss what my son was looking for and even where the best places to practice were. Reassured him that if he didn’t like the board he chose, he could exchange it for another one. After two days, we did need to exchange it. There was a different staff member there for the exchange and he was just as great. The shop itself is well stocked, and the prices seemed reasonable to me. Staff in the store was just as friendly and helpful as the rental staff. Very helpful and welcoming. Many shore businesses act like they can barely tolerate the tourists. This was the opposite. We were impressed and happy....

Drove up to LBI from South Jersey looking for a new short board for my son. Stopped at several of the local board shops along the way. Ron Jon's surf shop, not sure why it's called that almost a non existant surfboard inventory. Anyway ended up at Farias in Ship Bottom and was lucky enough to run into Brian Farias. My son was looking for some expert help in selecting a board appropriate for his skill level; Brian could not have been more helpful. Walked out of the store with a new Al Merrick Channel Island board and my son feeling confident that he chose the right board. Both of us enjoyed the experience and Brian couldn't have been nicer.
