The Mermaid Room — Restaurant in Ship Bottom

Me and my grand daughter went in for drinks during lunchtime for a cute little date. We asked for any healthy drink alternatives, and were met with rude manners and a digustful reaction to our request. Meanwhile, my sweet angel baby just wanted to be mindful of what she was consuming, due to her sugary coffee addiction. (LOL) The little girl with blonde hair working at the counter was extremely rude, and when we asked for sugar-free alternatives she said in a rude and dissmissive tone “We dont have that.” My baby was fine with it and ordered a different menu item, while the money was literally snatched from her hands by the girl. I am completely aware that the Independence Day rush is crazy, but I am still repulsed at the girl for her manners, unprofessional reaction, and obnoxious behavior. I’m also disgusted by the fact this establishment doesn’t serve any sugar-free options when so many people need healthier alternatives. I hope something is done about this, especially because my grand daughter and I just wanted quality time on our annual family vacation. I am never returning to this...

The best coffee shop not only in LBI but that I have ever experienced. The matcha is delectable and they curate unique seasonal drinks that are like nothing you can find. On top of that, it’s the perfect place for a housewarming gift, some of my most beautiful clothes come from there and the quality is top notch. Can’t leave the shop without an adorable trinket, piece of jewelry, straw hat, backgammon set etc. Ashley’s exquisite style is evident in every piece in the store. The staff is so friendly, they greet my dogs with the cutest pup cups. I start every day in LBI here and enjoy my delicious blueberry matcha in a calming and fun atmosphere. Not enough words to describe how fond I am of this gem...

I stopped by The Mermaid Room Coffee Bar and tried their iced coffee/matcha not bad at all! I’d definitely come back for the drinks. The place has a cute vibe and it’s a nice little spot to grab a pick-me-up.

That said… the girl at the front taking orders didn’t bring the best energy. I’m not expecting over-the-top smiles, but a little friendliness goes a long way especially in the morning when people are just trying to start their day with a good coffee and good vibes.

Still, overall a cute spot just hope next time the service feels a little more...
