This is my hometown target. I have been going here for YEARS. Since 2025 has started, I have had more incidents in this Target than any past years COMBINED.
The most recent incident was probably the worst. As a woman, I could NEVER imagine another woman discriminating against me.
A lady is working at the register, her light is off, so I don’t stand in her line. She makes direct eye contact with me once she’s done, and says nothing, just looks back down, so I assume she’s done and continue waiting in my line. Meanwhile I am in quite a rush as their self checkout line was over 20 people long.
Then, as she sees a MAN with a son walk by , she turns on her light for them. She plainly just didn’t want to serve me? For what DISCRIMINATORY REASON, I have no idea, I asked why she wouldn’t serve me and she stayed silent.
I asked for a manager and someone came up and said they would “talk to her” but didn’t actually go to say anything to her. I wanted an apology for being discriminated against and he said “I’m just trying to de-escalate right now” he would have de escalated by getting her to apologize to me. Again, she stayed SILENT. During this whole interaction she didn’t not say a single word at me and have me weird stares.
Honestly this is the last straw and I’m not sure WHAT has changed at this target since the beginning of 2025 but it’s terrible.
I absolutely do not recommend going to this Target, and I personally will be switching Targets (even though this is the closest to me , I am willing to drive further just to get a better experience). Something seriously needs to be done to get better, more polite, and less discriminatory workers there

Read moreLet me just say that I don’t ever write any reviews for anything at all unless I feel as if I experienced something that affected me. Janell at Target located in Shoreview made it such a good experience when I was at the guest service. I am a full time stay at home mom with no income and I have a two month old who recently switched formulas because one didn’t sit well with her stomach. I went into Target today to return them, hoping to get a gift card for a total of 15 baby formula cans since I made the purchases through my WIC card. Janell spent almost 30 minutes working on trying to get all 15 cans of formula refunded into a Target gift card, because even if it were to be refunded back onto my WIC card, I couldn’t even purchase it because it’s the kind that doesn’t work well with my newborn’s stomach. We had to refund each baby formula individually and I’m thankful that Janell was extremely patient and because of her, I was able to get all the baby formula refunded onto a gift card and used it to purchase the right baby formula that I needed since they are so expensive and I couldn’t afford them. Funny thing was that she was apologizing when she shouldn’t have for taking up our time, really I should’ve been the one apologizing for taking up both of our time. This woman needs a raise or something, but because the person who tried to help me before her said he wasn’t able to get me a refund through a gift card, which worried me because my baby’s formula was running low and she needed more. My newborn will have enough baby formula to last her because of Janell’s patience and gladly wanting to help. Thank you for such an...
Read moreAm I really giving a Target a 5 star review? I've struggled with how to evaluate this retail chain because they seem to plot a middle course -- not too cheap/awful, but also never really stunning. Before the pandemic Target was the place for people (mostly white ladies, if we're being honest) to impulse shop. All Targets still have a little bit of this allure, especially around the holidays.
I'm giving the Bloomington Avenue Target in Colorado Springs 5 stars because it is everything a Target is supposed to be, no more, no less. (Very few Targets are truly special, such as the flagship location in Edina Minnesota.) They have a Starbucks, the produce and grocery are just good enough, and they sell enough seasonal decorations and general merchandise to be of use.
But what especially makes this Target stand out is not even the Target itself, but the CVS located within. Ya'all, it is so hard to find a decent pharmacy these days. Rite Aid is no more, and most CVS and Walgreens locations are imploding before our eyes. BUT, the CVS inside this particular Target is just about perfect. The lines are never too long, the staff is never rude, and we've never had an issue filling a prescription here.
For my wife and I, the CVS at this Target is the main draw. But the rest of the store is also above average for a Target. These days, that's about the best we...
