I went out to Old Sturbridge Village a few times in the past year. Once for the Sleepy Hollow experience and twice for Christmas by Candlelight (where I worked as a caroler). Both events were truly magical. The Sleepy Hollow event runs the whole month of October and possibly some nights in September. You enter the village in the back at a certain time of night (7 pm maybe) and walk around as the show is happening. This was a bit of a musical (but quite unlike the Disney version) and was eerie but also fun. Obviously, the scene with horse chase on the covered bridge was the best.

The main " attraction" is the Christmas Tree Shop, which doesn't sell Christmas trees for its babe. The store is a huge dump. We get take clothes and shower curtains because they are cheap and get destroyed easily. The only other good thing about the store is that it's a huge mess, so you and the kids can pretty much destroy the place and no one cares. If you need cheap junk this...
