Read moreIf you're like me and are sick of the RIDICULOUSLY low volumes levels all theaters have recently become accustomed to due to the complaints from your fellow man, this theater IS for you. Actually I can only speak for the IMAX at the moment but still! When I was a kid, a theater was a place to go to be fully engrossed in whatever reality I was about to enter, with a big screen and a BOOMing sound that made me feel like I was right there in the action - But no more... After my last few years of movie going I've accepted that a theater is a place to go to get a big picture and hear nothing but the breathing and chewing of my fellow patrons - not that I mind the chewing, we are a chewing society and should be aloud to chew as we please. NO, my problem is with the SOUND- Now adays I can BARLEY make out what anyone on screen is saying, bullets sound like pathetic little bees buzzing by and any sort of ambience is non existent. I had finally learned to accept this until finally it happend.. The complainers got to my imax. IMAX was my safe heaven, a place to go where no one would dare touch my volume but yet, after an imax screening of Avengers Age of Ultron , I'd found that the age of loudness had finally ended. It was then that I knew I was done fully enjoying movies. BUT NOT ANYMORE, for I have stumbled onto this regal cinema where the voices are fierce and the bullets fly at me with a force I haven't felt in years. Rejoice my fellow non virgined eared people, For this theater HAS THE VOLUME YOU'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!!!!! After seeing a showing of Captain America Civil War for my first time at the Amc Fallbrook, I was further reminded how sad and pathetic the theater volumes had become. (It literally felt like everyone in the film was whispering) BUUT on my second viewing at this theater, it was like ascending to the heavens again. Oh and the picture was nice too. So long story long, if you've been searching for a theater that has good picture and good sound - here ya go, because this is the one theater (besides the TCL) around here that actually knows what a theater is. At least...For...
They have a discount day on Tuesdays and occasionally show movies that were released a couple months earlier for a discount too. You need to download their app for discounts. Great place to see movies.
At least they used to do a Tuesday discount day! I rescind my previous 5 star review...
They also pre book theaters to capacity, and when you buy tickets the theater is empty...
They recently started Tuesday discount day again, just discontinued to profit off the natural disaster I guess?!
During the summers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they have family film matinees for very cheap prices but some kids are in summer school or at day care while their parents work on weekdays and can't take advantage of it.
They have no one selling tickets, and you have to arrive early because food and tickets are sold simultaneously making you late for the movie. So inefficient! Security is asking you if you have tickets instead of actually selling tickets! So many people not working and selling tickets. They are just standing around doing nothing when people are waiting in a line to by tickets.
Regal Sherman Oaks Galleria theater was too close to the fire evacuation zone in Los Angeles, plus there have been power outages, so I drove all the way to Simi Valley to see movies on Tuesday January 15 only to find out that they discontinued Tuesday discount day during the fires.
Not cool! People try to escape the stress of the fire areas only to get price gouged... So much for the community coming together in times of a disaster. Disgusting and shameful. Profiteering off of disasters is not good company policy.
My option was to pay $20 for a matinee, so I went home. $20 for...
Read moreI rescinded my previous 4-star rating. I used to love coming to this theater because of the discount Tuesday tickets and the reclining seats. But after today I will have to reconsider coming back to this theater again. I went to see the early 2:05 showing of Wicked and I was still in the theater 5 minutes after the movie ended and the credits were rolling. I was texting with my fiance and waiting to see if there was any end credits scene or teaser. I was trying to take a selfie of myself facing away from the movie screen and a lone male employee came in to clean the theater. He yelled very aggressively at me and accused me of recording the movie, which I wasn't and there wasn't even anything to record. He also threatened to call the police on me for something again I wasn't doing. I told him I wasn't recording anything and ran out of the theater and hid in the bathroom for 10 minutes because being verbally assaulted in such an aggressive way gave me a panic attack. If this is how your employees are taught to treat paying customers, then you seriously need to train them better or fire them. It was completely unnecessary to be that rude. There was also an incident two years ago regarding my disabled father with Parkinson's that I am still pissed about. Also the seats are getting very worn out just like Regal's welcome with me. I would have gone to the customer service desk but I was too upset. I have already emailed Regal Customer Support every time I do all I get is a...
