I took my phone in for a screen repair as I needed to get an upgraded phone. I couldn't upgrade my phone until they repaired it through my insurance. The deductible was $30. This is reasonable enough considering I pay $15 per month. I have wireless charged my phone for its entire life. I have never had a single issue with wireless charging. I come in and it takes them a full 24 hours to even look at the phone for some reason. As infuriating as that was it wasn't as bad as the scam that was about to come. They claims that wireless charging wasn't working so they would not be able to repair the screen. How that makes any sense is beyond me but how they could so blatantly attempt to scam me is also beyond me. I immediately filed an information report with the police to protect myself from the scam. Of course when I got home the wireless charging was no longer working. What this company essentially is doing is breaking your phone at the repair shop with issues they claim are intermittent. Intermittent issues with technology is the perfect crime as it is impossible to determine the issue without swapping out the part. Since I had no issue with wireless charging before this is a clear and blatant scam that I will be reporting with Verizon as well as the proper authorities. I heard another gentleman coming in talking about how his asurion phone was also having issues. This company is a complete fraud and the way the screen cracked on my Samsung phone was as though it was an iPhone. The replacement phone they wanted to me to buy was directly due to an issue with one of their replacement phones. How does that make any sense? Why would I buy another replacement phone from you after you just claimed that the reason I can't get service from you is because the phone randomly doesn't wireless charge, despite me not having any issue with wireless charging before I came to the store. Such a scam. I will never deal with this insurance...
Read moreI'm giving this location one star not because of the company but because of the manager of the store " Gerone Jackson " who was unwilling to help solve my data transfer problem from my broken phone to my new phone even after three trips to his store in Simi Valley still made it sound so difficult, not duable and would have cost in the upwards of $600 without any guarantees an advising me that insurance does not cover data transfers. After talking to the asurion representative he recommended I choose another store which I did. Thousand oaks was another location close to me and they were able to take care of my problem immediately. It is not the product that we sell it is the service that we give that's what counts. unfortunately employees and make or break a company they represent the company if they do well the company looks good if they do bad the company looks bad and because of few bad apples I am not saying that uBreakifix is a bad company neither is Verizon nor asurion . I believe in this case particularly the one person who misrepresented Verizon, Asurion and uBreakifix was the store manager of the Simi Valley location himself no one else it's all on him. I have been a client of Verizon for over 25 years and have had 8 cell phones with them I shouldn't have had to spend 8 days and countless hours on the phone as well as three trips to Simi Valley ubreakifix, One trip to Verizon store in Simi Valley and one trip to thousand oaks store they were able to restore my data and finally...
Read moreBrought my pc for overheating and blue screen issues. They fixed overheating which was a simple fix with some more thermal pasting. Still had blue screen after retrieving pc from shop. Brought back for blue screens, which they said was motherboard. Bought replacement for the switch, but then they said they couldn't because it was actually the cpu having bent pins. I don't know much about pc so I believed them. Said they couldn't do the repair which was fair. Upon getting it back they did not bother reconnecting any of the cables leaving it a mess. I decided to learn more about the pcs and how to make fixes. Turns out it was just a burnt out cpu with no bent pins(which I didn't know at the time, but are on the motherboard not the cpu). Had it actually been bent pins the motherboard change would've been the correct change not the cpu. Also the overheating issues that were caused by the thermal paste was actually not fixed because they barely put any on contrary to what they said they had done. On top of that, I did mention to them upon first drop-off to keep a factory reset a last resort if they could not identify they problem. They still did the factory reset even though they made a diagnosis(even if it was partially wrong), so now I don't have any of my saved files. This all happened over the span of about 1 month and a half which was a waste of time for a cpu swap which took less than an hour...
