One Nine Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy — Attraction in Solana Beach

My first experience with OneNine was last year when I had a horrible ankle sprain playing tennis resulting in having to be in a boot for quite some time. I needed physical therapy, looked on the internet for top ratings of local sports therapists and after much research I choose to work with Dr. Dave Gerbarg. I’m so glad I did! He is such a professional. The one on one attention to my specific therapy was spot on. Dave is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and detail oriented. With the weekly therapy sessions and the specific exercises tailored to my injury, my ankle is stronger than before and my game has been elevated.

I felt so strongly about his therapy that I asked if he and his team would participate at a Pro/Am I was organizing at the Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club. He along with his team, Dr. Amanda DeRosa and Dr. Dave Paczkowski, spent hours treating our top amateurs and top local Pros. They took the time and attention to access each athlete individually, worked on them and gave them tailored exercises. During the Pro/Am I was pleasantly surprised to find out that many of our tennis members were clients of OneNine (I shouldn’t have been surprised ; ) I also had numerous players and pros come up to me during the tournament to say how they have never had such individualized attention from a sports physical therapist and that they “really care”. They all take their profession very seriously and at the same time are warm and caring.

I can not say enough about how happy I am that I found One Nine Sports..And specifically John. I have been with him now going on 4 months. I have had bi lateral full shoulder replacement. I'm over 60 and have been involved in sports my whole life. Prior to my surgeries I workout in in the gym 7 days a week. I've also had more experince with Physical therapy centers than I'd ever hoped necessary. My goal was not just regain range of motion and become pain free. But to be able to get back some reasonable level of resistance and conditioning and strenth training. John is extremely knowledgeable and is completely dedicated and focused on supporting my rehabilitation goals. He spends a great deal of time on extensive deep tissue message and stretching and followed by resistance training. My sessions are incredibly comprehensive with one on one interaction the entire session. Something you will be hard pressed to find in your standard Rehabilitation Centers. My well know sports orthopedic surgeon is beyound surprised to my rapid progress. I don't normally take this much time to right a review of my experiences. But given what John has been able to accomplish with me given my high expectations I felt it necessary to leave...

I connected with Kat to improve my mobility and strength of my ankles and work on my leg extension (currently cannot yet lock my knees). These issues have caused pain for me when walking or runnings. First things I noticed as a new patient/client, the facilities are super clean, there is ample parking, and everyone is very timely. There is always fun music playing, and the rest of the staff are friendly as well. There is a place to put your things aside during the appointment, as well as filtered water to stay hydrated. Most importantly, Kat has such a good energy and is patient when explaining the correct form and procedure for the exercises. She first assigned three core exercises, and as I got more in the habit of doing them routinely expanded/reduced from there depending on my time and capacity. I wasn't able to continue working with her due to job relocation, but I would recommend her to anyone in the area looking for professional mobility and injury...
