This is a wonderful experience every time I go out with the Duke O' Fluke. The rods AND the bait are included in the price. There are usually five baits to choose from including, live minnows. All you need is bring your own stuff! It's all back bay fishing on a large pontoon boat with a bathroom. So the boat sickness is incredibly low. I've never seen it. Bring a sense of humor ! 𤣠The mates are super helpful, especially with the novice angler....even children.
About the post previous to this one....
So in a nut shell, this is what happened. The boat leaves the dock at complete blowout tide, and goes around the bend. The Captain sees something in the distance and mentions it to us. It looks like a man waving 500 yards in the distance. It is! How the hell did he get there!? No boat, no life vest, standing in 1 foot deep water waving. Captain takes his boat towards the man as we hit under 2 feet of water depth. We can't go forward. Captain hails Coast Guard and the State Trooper and EHT police officer onboard are on the phone with 911.
Ocean city PD responds and are on their way.
Then without any provocation, the man started swimming for no reason. HE IS SAFE STANDING IN 1 Ft OF WATER! What would make this man do that?
As we saw this happening, two wave runners were coming near and we waved them down. After directing them of the situation, they continued to attempt to help the man. Looking from a distance, we watched as he could hardly get on the wave runner, even with help of the fit gentleman trying to help him.
Following that, they wave runners took him across the large very windy channel and dropped him at his boat! We were all like, what!!!??? A boat!!!
Soooo what really happened was that he didn't secure his boat while clamming and it blew him away while he wasn't wearing a life jacket.
The wave runners returned to the boat and said this guy smelled or booze, SO BAD, and that his was drunk out of his mind.
Next, the man who was returned to the boat, turned around and slowly went back to the SAME PLACE while pounding beers back on his way.
We were all flabbergasted.
Then we moves on to fishing.
Everyone is the boat was super happy that Captain Dave took his time to help this stranded individual.
There were even some of us on the boat ready to swim against the wind and tide to save him until we saw the wave runners. Thanks to them and Capt Dave for being at the right spot at that time.
And lastly, YES! This man went to the dock the next morning accusing the Captain of not saving him.
His profane language, loud voice and aggressive physicality prompted a phone call to the local police.
Unfortunately, trying to do good deads sometimes backfires, but shouldn't make you fell like not helping again.
In addition to this attack, he leaves his address. Who in their right mind does that?!
I do have the while video which was shared with authorities. Apparently, they know this man very well đ
These photos are captures from the video and show him standing. And the other photo is the local officer on the phone with 911.
I know this gentleman needs to apologize...
Read moreThe captain of this boat almost cost me my life. I was stranded across the bay was directed to swim to his boat. I swam a 1/4 mile in choppy seas . 1 good arm a 2 legs. Waiting to take my last breath. My mind said fight. My body had nothing left. I started going under Just then 2 black guys pulled up on wave runners. It took all I had to say bro I gotta grab on He let me. By the hand of God I was saved. I went to c the captain the next Dat. I said remember me. I'm the guy u let drown.    Read moreDO NOT GO!!! Fatherâs Day Fishing trip.....Woke up early to be at the boat by 6:50 (coming from Bucks County) as the owner (Brook) suggested so that we could purchase our tickets and be assured a spot on the boat as it is first come first serve. They do not take reservations. So we purchased our tickets and the owner sent us to a nearby breakfast place with instructions to be back by 8. We arrived back at the boat at 7:45 to find the boat was pulling away from the dock! As we waived and screamed to him the reply was âbe back afternoonâ. I spoke to him on his cellphone and he was so ignorant. Condescending and unapologetic as he told me he sold 3 tickets in our place and there was nothing he could do about it. As I was freaking out on the phone to him he said âlisten with your ears, not your mouth....there is nothing I can do about itâ we are now trapped in Somers Point for 4 hours so we can go and get our money back. Incidentally they say they donât take reservations, while we were in line he got a call and put 5 tickets aside for someone!! DO...
