I really like all the different stores and that it's tucked back from Somerville Ave, it's quiet and you don't feel like you are near a busy street. I also really like the concept of the little restaurants where there are a lot of options so if you have a group everyone can get what they want. It's a good place to go if you want to try a lot of different types of food. I went with 2 other people and we all tried something different and then shared.
I'm adding to my review because of the extremely fun and relaxing afternoon we had here on Bastille Day. I found the event on Eventbrite and we went there to check it out. We ended up buying a picnic which consisted of a canvas tote with a baguette, fromage, and a bottle of rosé. We sat under an umbrella all afternoon eating and drinking while watching this fantastic mime interact with people. The mime was an exceptional performer. They did a fantastic job making it a welcoming, relaxing, space. They laid out carpets and several pillows and blankets for people to sit on under two big umbrellas. I was so stressed earlier and it all melted away. I am keeping an eye out for other events here because it's been several days now and I'm still feeling good about our afternoon there. I can't wait to see what other...
Read moreThis a very cool little wine, drinks, and snacks area. The setup is complex: there are lots of smaller establishments with an outer courtyard area, often with live music, and you can go into individual sit down areas and at least some of them provide options to order food and drink from other local restaurants located in the market.
Prices vary, of course. Some of the drinks do tend to be on the pricier side ($13-14 for a small mixed drink or cup of wine), but many of the options are indeed delicious. I for one had the Land of Milk and (Punch) Honey which I thought was quite good (honey, after all, is a #sugarisevil-approved sweetener).
Overall the area is neat and fun, has options for everyone, food selection is a little more limited (it's primarily about drinks here anyways) but there are definitely options including vegan, gluten-free, and dairy free bites and dishes as well.

Read moreSo much fun! I really, really enjoyed this spot. It has tons of great and varied (fun) food options, a wine bar, a brewery that also serves coffee, a fancy cocktails bar, and a fantastic assortment of shops, including a pinball parlor!! Plus, the outdoor eating space is lovely with shade and sunny spots to choose from. And yes, it's dog-friendly.
We had empanadas from Buenas (Argentine seal of quality), cake from this cool Vietnamese-American bakery, and a refreshing pint from Rebel Rebel Brewery. We sat at the Brewery's back outdoor patio and were wowed by how huge that space was! (Also dog-friendly). We then walked down memory lane playing a few rounds of pinball and casually visited the flower and paper stores on the second floor.... It was a lovely and complete afternoon. We'll be back!
On my list to try next: Bluefin oysters, macaroon ice cream sandwiches, and probably another beer.. or...
