I give Venetia house 5 Stars my mom spent two months there and prior to that two months in the hospital I'm here to tell you that when she entered there she was on able to eat solid foods thanks to the therapist Liza today she can eat I never thought my mother would be coming home I cried every day going and coming to this place seeing her I word every day that something would happen because I heard horror stories of nursing homes but I'm here to tell you that the director of this facility Sally has heart she makes sure that every patient is cared for the proper way the nurses and the AIDS are awesome your people like Miss Mary he's worked there for 12 years I just Pleasant yeah people like Virginia who serves the food you have a receptionist at the front desk who is kind and helpful then there's Barbara on the second floor who is just amazing needless to say you have Nicole who's a social worker Chantel Angela Jamie Brandy Rob King and so many many more that's just amazing . the place is clean and overseen and yes it does have problems but so does every place have you been to any other places why i have by far this is a five star hotel my mother's now fully recovered at the ripe age of 95 and is home with me again which I thought was never going to be possible and only to the care and the kindness of everyone that work with her like Dawn in the rehab and all the staff at the rehab that helped her walk again so when you see these bad reviews stop blaming the facilities put the blame where it belongs on our politicians who keep deducting money from our elderly you want to do something write to your Senators write your congressman and tell them to stop cutting Social Security benefits because the cost of medication isn't cheap.we sit back and we blame facilities for all of the faults of our society and by the way it's our job as their children or to take care of them so if you want better care for your parents or your loved ones be there everyday taking interest get to know the staff respect them in the respect you will take very good care of your family stop bashing things if you don't want to do the work these people are underpaid and understaffed only due to the society that we live in in the system that's broken. people to be lazy and not doing their job can you tell me how many times you were there to change diapers for your parents or your elderly to give them a bath to struggle with them if they have dementia and they're violent what they put up with on a daily basis this is one of the cleanest and nicest facilities I've seen and yes they do have problems don't get it twisted but stop knocking something if you're not willing to do the work yourself I'm here to tell you and I'm grateful that this place existed to take care of my mom when I couldn't do for her when she needed so if I can give it 6 Stars I would I want to thank Kevin and Sally and all of the facility workers that worked at every day that take care of our seniors because we got a place like this so if you want to be about something go there everyday and help don't act like you're getting paid to do this and it's not your responsibility to take care of your family members because they're being paid what they're being paid as peanuts and they do very good job at it so I want to thank the Venetia house and the entire staff I also want to say God bless them for putting up with after stuff they have to there's elderly patients is coming there prejudice and out of their mind and calling people the n word because of the color of the skin or hitting them on a daily basis and people have the audacity to give them such a bad rating because they won't do the job that they need to do for their elderly how dare you I spent five to seven hours a day in that facility I help the staff got to know them all and I could tell you nowhere is perfect but this place is a little piece of heaven one of the residents had a hundred and one birthday and you should have seen the party even the Mayor Wilda Diaz came thank you Kevin and Sally and all the...
Read moreMy Mom has been at the Venetian since February of 2021 and on the whole we’ve been very happy with her care. She has awesome nurses, lead by Unit Manager Ed, Sue, Pat and Peggy are such kind and genuinely caring people. Even the nurses that fill in have been great. CNA’s are great too, Trinia, Rose, Courtney, Bernadette, AB, Roland. Such a tough job, I’m so grateful to them. Lena and Samantha in food services are awesome too. Lena takes good care of Mom, always making sure she has something she likes to eat and always updating me with the new menus to make sure Mom is happy with her meals. The activities department is absolutely wonderful, headed by Annette and Teresa. Especially, during COVID, they worked so hard to make sure the families were able to facetime with the residents and did all they could to make a very difficult time a little better. Teresa would always do her best to schedule visits so that residents could visit with their families as much as possible. The girls in activities are so great, Gladis, Sue, Wendy and Megan. They really try to get the residents involved, with music, games, exercise, bingo, manicures and many other fun activities. Annette is so wonderful, she genuinely cares for the well being and happiness of the residents. There were days where I couldn’t get in for a visit and she would make a point to let me know that Mom had gotten involved with one of the activities and how much fun she had. It made my day! She would also just check in to say hello to Mom and see how she was doing on a daily basis, which I know Mom was not the only one she did this for. It really makes me feel good, that on the days I can’t be with Mom there are kind, caring people looking in on her. I’ve met so many kind people since Mom has been at the Venetian, especially Aisha, former activities member who was promoted. I don’t know what I would have done without her early on and she still makes a point to visit the residents to see how they are doing, even though it is no longer in her job description. The maintenance department is great too, Anthony, Tim & Jules, whenever we’ve had any issues, they come up right away to address it. The receptionists are so nice too, Diane and Esther, always doing whatever they can to help and it’s nice to come in to a friendly face. Thank God for all these wonderful people. My only criticism is that I wish they could hire more nurses and aides. I would hate for Mom to lose the wonderful Nurses and CNA’s she has because they are overworked. These are not easy jobs, both mentally and physically exhausting. A happy employee makes for happy residents and in turn, happy family members. Corporate, please do whatever you can to hire more amazing people and above all keep the amazing people you have, believe me, they are hard to come by and should be rewarded for their hard work. Thank you to all the amazing caregivers at the Venetian, if I missed anyone, I'm so sorry, our family is so thankful to you all and we...
Read moreThe Venetian Cater Center was home for my loving mother Eunice Wojciechowski , a 70 year resident of South Amboy for well over a year. During that time frame I visited my mom very often as did my other family members. My moms care was at the top end of any facility I had been to in our county. Let me explain that I had alot of experience with several other care facilities as both my parents were in their mid 90's pefore they passed. I also was a trained NJ Volunteer Ombudsman and had visited several other facilities along with the experience of the ones my parents rehabed in during thier lifetime journey. The Venetian was the absolute best. When I say this, I dont mean they passed by any small measure- they were amazing! My mom's life was energized with dignity and loving care till she passed away there in March 2018. The Venitian has excellent management and care staff. Anytime we visited, and that was often, we observed not only my moms care, but the care for others. This is not any easy job and I watched how the staff really worked hard to manage the care of each person as an individual, as a person. The Adminstrators and managers were very kind, considerate and helpful through each step of the journey that was required when a parents life is in decline. My brothers and sister loved that my mom could be at the Venetian Care Center with such well trained caring folks in a beautiful, clean and modern care facilty. My family had care for both my parents at their home for years, but it became unsustainable due to the extreme needs of Edler care. I have experienced so many birthday partys that the Venetian staff happily provide for their residents. The holiday parties and daily activities. Getting old is a difficult process , but I believe the Venetian is offering the very best in care and lifestyle for this period in our life. I always sat with my mom and talked to other resident neighbors there and so many were happy and loved their friends -the nurses and caregivers. I cannot thank the Venetian enough! Even the evening my mom passed they were such a loving force for us. I felt when we left the Venetian with mom, we left a part of my family behind, because they were so kind to us all .....always. Thank you for every day you loved and cared for our mom. Mom's life was enriched by you all and so were ours. Thank you all- we will always be grateful. Terry...
