Staples — Attraction in South Bend

First off, let me say that the Copy Center staff is great. They are always quick to ask if you need help, and willing to stop what they're doing to assist. The rest of the staff, however, is a much different story. I've waited in lines of over 20 minutes before because other staff members (who I know saw me as we made eye contact while my apparently threatening glances of anger and fury prompted many to scurry away or look elsewhere to avoid my evil stares) stand idly by as the line stretches around. Cashiers are often unbearingly slow, have to call for approval for many things, not knowledgable of store products at all, unaware (or insensitive) of other customers, have personalities similar to hospice patients, and have no sense of urgency when it comes to task prioritization. The only reason I keep coming back is because its so close to my house. On days I have free time, i will drive across town to Officemax just for the better experience and radical e-mailed receipts. If a viable alternative was available other than Target, I'd use it. Product selection is good, Staples Rewards is acceptable at best, but unless you have alot of time on your hands, or are extremely bored and have time to waste, I wouldn't...

Had a few non positive interactions with Staples over the past few years. For one thing the rewards program full of loop holes that makes it hard to figure out what to do to earn rewards and very easy to not meet qualifications and loose out. Besides that the most recent glitch was I ordered online for home delivery but I made a huge mistake and sent it to my other address - totally my fault. Literally hours after placing the order I chatted with a 'rep' who assured me they canceled the order and I even got a confirmation of the cancelation. BUT few days later I then get a delivery confirmation too and SURPRISE turns out when the first rep lies and says the order is canceled the second rep says it is UNABLED to be canceled. I could not even go thru UPS to redirect or cancel (UPS Stinks too). So not impressed with the lie - or lack of training - maybe rep was not even in the USA. The store is clean and has pretty much everything you could need when it comes to office supplies. It makes it a good place to get something that you might have been having trouble finding elsewhere, however, like most "specialty" shops, the prices tend to be slightly higher than what you could find at a super store or online. For example, you could get a pack of pens for cheaper at Wal-mart, but you can find more kinds of pens here. And if you need it today, then you can't always wait for online.

They have a service center where you can make copies, print, and send faxes among other things. Again, it is a little pricey. It cost me over two dollars a page to send a fax. But if you don't have another option, then at least this one is...
