Update 04-10-2024
I'm sorry this review is late, but life got in the way. My issue with the mattress I purchased and was required to keep for 60 (SIXTY) days under Gardner White's misleading "Guarantee ", was resolved. No, they did not care that I was not able to sleep on the mattress and sleep in my recliner. No, it didn't matter that my visible, physical disabilities were exacerbated by not having a bed to sleep in. But, live and learn.
I did not go back to the original store at 8 mile in Southfield. I went to the location in Novi and all I can say is the sales representative (JILLIAN), was the most helpful and caring person, and salesperson I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. She look the time to have some of the guys working in the store (they were fantastic, too), move mattresses around as walking is difficult and excessive exertion affects my breathing. She made sure I was able to easily and safely get on and off the bed. She did not rush me to make a quick decision so she could make a buck (which she didn't make as it was an exchange...grrrr). She brought water to me because she was paying attention better than some health care professionals, as she noticed the exertion expended while I was trying out mattresses. I have recommended JILLIAN to family and friends. In fact, my brother and sister in law are going out to purchase a bed, and we're also planning to purchase living room furniture...JILLIAN will get our business and anyone elses' I can send her way. The minute JILLIAN moves on to bigger and better things (which I'm sure she will) is when my money and recommendations to shop at GW will end. My outcome was good, but many others were not
Still, BEWARE of Gardner White's misleading "guarantee". It is NOT in the best interest of the customers/consumers; it's in GARDNER WHITE'S best interest.
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL! Gardner White customer service will put you through the wringer. I pray RACHEL TRONSTEIN STEWART address my issue below. VERY DIFFICULT to locate and email, so I'm not sure she's aware that her salesperson and customer service representatives are less than helpful.
Original review: Beware of Gardner White's Comfort Guarantee. Read the fine print thoroughly so as not to think this guarantee is good for the consumer/customer. IT IS NOT!! You are REQUIRED to keep a mattress or other covered item for 60 (SIXTY) days. Beware of the salesperson that will say "oh, we'll come out with a new mattress", when you express concern. REMEMBER: they work on COMMISSION. The ladies in customer service have advised that only the President of Gardner White can override this "guarantee". Read moreHi my name is Nicicia Jones and My experience with Gardner White (Southfield Mi.) was kinda of different I came in and ordered on December 15, 2023 a beautiful Sofa and Chair (light tan) On Saturday December 16, 2023 two very respectable young men one named Rick and the other one is named Jay they were very efficient and very well Manored they knew their job they got it done very well and they were also very personable. The two young set the living room set up very quickly. Now to kinda my small complaint I was not home when the delivery came (my son and nephew was home) I was at work. So when I got off work Saturday evening I came into my house and I walked into my living room and I saw a gray sofa and a tan big chair. I was really hurt and dissatisfied I couldn't understand how in the world that my order got so messed up and also even though the two young man came early Sunday morning December 17th and brought me the tan couch to match my tan chair they set my living room set up very quickly and efficiently I could not understand why they would leave the couch there (not there fault at all) it was totally a mismatch living room set I was very disappointed not in the two young gentlemen but in my sales person. Thankfully a very nice efficient young lady at the desk help me out tremendously with my contract with how to go on and proceed with My purchase her name is Ne-Ne (Antwaneshs) she's very good at what she does I'm writing this review because I really would like for these three people to be acknowledged. Me and my fiancée moved in April 2022. We went and selected our bedroom and living room furniture and was told everything would arrive in June. It’s August and we still haven’t received everything that we have ordered.
We were told that the sofa we ordered (after we had to call ourselves to see what was up) was discontinued! Like how can you sell someone something, claim it’ll arrive by a certain date, and then fail to mention that the product was discontinued after waiting over a month???
We remained calm after being told to select new furniture and we also requested service for our bed frame that was poorly equipped by the first workers that delivered our bedroom set.
Fast forward to August 6, 2022… Our new furniture FINALLY arrived only for them to send the wrong pillows to the sofa we ordered. We have been going back and forth with these people since April and I’m personally fed up and wouldn’t recommend their service to any of my friends or family if you’re actually in need of furniture. Every time we called it seemed as if the rep and desk workers were not documenting the things that were discussed. We always had to remind them of what was told to us and they would claim “The back office didn’t put it in” when we came in person and spoke directly to the people and watched them write everything down.
The location we went to was located on West 8 mile road in Southfield, MI. This will be our LAST TIME ever attempting to do business with this company. We were highly disappointed.
