My 10 yro granddaughter went to snack bar tonight to purchase a churro. Seeing her mom at stores & restaurants saying 'keep the change' My granddaughter thought she would do the same & show a bit of being a grown up. Well, when my granddaughter comes back to truck with NONE OF HER MONEY & tells me what she said I was FURIOUS!! The girl at the register ACTUALLY KEPT HER MONEY THAT WAS EXTRA, $1.75!!! Now, totally no big deal if a few pennies maybe nickle or dime but $1.75!! YES!! I GOT HER MONEY BACK!!! The cashier, maybe 16yro literally had NO COMMON SENSE to not take this 10year olds EXTRA money! She put it to the SIDE inside the register. WHY DID YOU TAKE IT AT ALL?? WHY DID YOU PUT IT TO THE SIDE INSIDE THE REGISTER?? WHERE is proper training in jobs dealing with the PUBLIC these days? I asked to speak to her supervisor WHOM, BY THE WAY, must have been 16-18 herself!! The oldest person I saw that worked there tonight was a snack bar worker maybe in her 30s that went to the back room & didn't help her co-worker in the slightest with this situation. From first entering the drive in tonight at the ticket booth, this girl worker was all tongue tied & confused. I was in line for screen 2-asked her 'is this the side for Nut job 2?' STOP TALKING GIBBERISH long enough to hear me the FIRST TIME ask if I'm in the correct lane without repeating myself at which her response was 'I sell them all day long.' WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I repeated myself about correct side for movie we chose to see...yeah, this is the right side. I count out the correct amount of change (quarters) & she is like in loopy land!!! I ask for a glow light, hand her the $1.00 & she says there are no strings for it. HOW is it suppose to be worn as a necklace if you have no string THAT COMES WITH THEM IN PACKAGING!!!😠😠😠 WHAT IS GOING ON THESE DAYS with this DRIVE-IN?? AND THEN THERE IS SNACK BAR CONTENT THAT IS SO OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE!!! 👹👹😠 I ordered 2 of the HUGE pretzels with cheese- $3/pretzel $1.50/cheese!!!!💩💩 $9.00!!!! Are you EFFFFFN KIDDING ME?? Keep your Pretzels & cheese!! This was OUR LAST visit for 2017!! Lyon County schools start Monday. We made 5-6 trips this summer to Drive-In. As of this moment, drive-in isn't looking so HOT for next year!! Those recliners at...

There are no time machines and sadly no Batman. But you can still get that nostalgic feeling by going to the Drive-In movies. Hmm! I am going to age myself. I remember seeing the original "Star Wars" at the Drive-In movies in the 1970's. That was in Idaho. Sadly the Drive-In in Idaho is closed. I don't believe there are many Drive-In Movie businesses open anymore.
However, we are blessed with one in Sparks. I have been going to this one for over 20 years. Originally there was a small playground like equipment with a slide and swings. The equipment was removed years ago. In the old days, you used to have to put a speaker on the window of your car. There are no more speakers. Nowadays they will tell you which channel to set your car radio to and then the sound of the movie will be heard on your car stereo and speakers. Or you can bring some chairs and sit in front of your car and bring a portable stereo.
Restrooms are available and a cute little snack shop. It reminds me of the old drive-in intermission ad "Let's all go to the snack bar and get ourselves a treat." The snack bar has candy, popcorn, hamburgers, hot dogs and lots of other items. It's a great place to go with family and friends. You can go with a big group and park close to one another. It feels like a party. Bring a blanket for the kids to sit on.
Our drive-in offers 4 different movies and they are all double features. Movies do not play until dusk. If you stay for the second movie it may not get out until 1 or 2 am. Tuesday nights is Family night kids 11 and under are $1.50 and kids 12 - adults are $5.50. Be sure to get there early for the best spots on Tuesday nights and weekend nights as there is often a huge line. This is a popular venue in Sparks, NV.
