Continued adventures of SHOPPING WHILE BLACK! So after five months of first being told I couldn't have a bookbag in the store, on Jan 3rd 2025 while in store I once again informed a manager that their bookbag policy is being enforced equally. I pointed out two female shoppers with bookbags on in the store and no one is saying anything to them. The manager I was speaking with (the only reasonable one) called over a second manager who immediately described me as "harassment of store employees" and the reasonable manager immediately told her "no, he's doing what I told him to do" and the unreasonable manager gave an "apology" and the reasonable manager excused her behavior by informing me she just had a loved on pass away. So continuing about how this bag policy isn't being enforced equally, the reasonable manager admitted that at it's base the policy IS SEX BASED because they don't enforce it on female shoppers!!!!!!! If you're curious why I really think this policy is race based is because the last time I spoke with both of these managers about this hypocrisy I had to point out a Hispanic man that was shopping with a bookbag and I also pointed out a white man that was in the store shopping with a bookbag!!!! The first and only people so far that I've seen this bag policy enforced on were two black men, one was five months ago and the other is myself! The first two photos are from Jan 3rd 2025, the others are previous shoppers with bookbags in the store since I was told I couldn't have one.

The store is small, generally crowded, but overall, it works. I purchased some honey on my last visit. I had grabbed it from shelf, though there was no price listed anywhere. When I got home, I read my receipt, shocked to find it was a $7.00 jar of honey. I wouldn't have purchased it, if the price was actually posted...had I not been sick, I would've returned that honey on general principle. ( I ended up using the honey, and it wasn't spectacular, it didn't inspire or thrill the taste buds) My other issue is that in the shampoo section, each visit, there is a couple employee's stocking shelves and they don't move or acknowledge you...I have blown off the whole area a few times over this matter. They usually have crates that they sit upon, right in that area. One visit in particular, the employee had a family visit, and was engrossed in that...no regard for my standing there, trying to buy a shampoo or a bar of soap...no movement, no nothing. I thought I was at someone's family reunion instead of trying to get supplies and bounce out...also, when I was checking out, the lady running the register said hello, but then began a full blown conversation with the customer behind me...all about her personal life, how she was drunk and gambling the previous night...yada yada yada...I wasn't spoken to again, even though I'm handing over 100 bucks.. I go back because it's near where I live...and it is what it is.

Thursday 5/2 10:30 am. I went in with my 3 year old granddaughter to purchase coffee and coconut water. 3 year old had to potty so we asked an employee stocking OTC in first section of store. Female employee was rude to us about opening the restroom. She pointed to ripped/dirty sign on restroom door and said next time you have to go to checker to verify you’re a customer. She let us into restroom and there was no toilet paper. I told her there was no toilet paper but she walked back to her stocking. I found another male employee and he found tp and let us back in. I told him about original encounter. When we finished, the rude employee was outside the door and told me she hadn’t been rude. That she let me in right? I told her that she didn’t have to point to the sign and be rude. She told me that she never said that! Tried to gaslight me. When I called her out in it, she replied that she’s not going to argue because you have to be right. My granddaughter actually asked me why is the lady not telling the truth? I bought the items I went in for but will not go back. Or to the one on Kietzke because someone told me they’re the same owners. For all I know this woman could be one of the owners and that’s why she thinks it’s ok to blatantly lie and be ugly to customers.

The store and merchandise itself is great and well stocked. However, the employees are just horrible. Not courteous, not friendly, low rent type of people and bad customer service and people skills. One employee in particular by the name of Carolyn is a very nasty person with a very bad attitude. Not friendly and extremely rude. Omg, I cannot believe how bad she is when it comes to customer service and her job. She needs to be put in the back somewhere, where she doesn’t actually have to encounter other people and definitely customers. She really needs an attitude adjustment and learn how to not belittle and talk down customers as if they are children. I shop here at least 3 times a month and everytime i get her as a cashier, she sucks at the job with a really bad attitude and unbelievably rude. In fact, this time i have a mind to actually notify the manager of her attitude, terrible work ethic, horrible customer service and rudeness. Management really needs to do something with that broad and fast because she is prone to running repeat customers away from the franchise altogether. Two stars for the store’s merchandise and stock itself only but for the type of people they employ, 0 stars. Negative 0 -0 👎 if there was such a thing and if I could rate it like that. If you want to be treated rudely and with an attitude, be talked down to, belittled and treated like a child by low rent people with absolutely no customer service and people skills whatsoever, then this...
