An unbelievable experience! One of the best escape rooms I have found in Michigan so far. I have been desperately searching for a Gen-3/2nd Generation escape room and this does not disappoint! For those that don't know, this means instead of standard paper puzzles with reading or house key locks to doors, they typically include but aren't limited to magnetic locks, digital puzzles, animatronics, lasers, numerous interactive screens, audio puzzlels, etc. In short, they have more high-tech and outside-the-box experiences overall that really immerse the players and envelop the senses for an all encompassing enjoyable factor. I truly cannot recommend this escape room more to people. The only other place I found similar to this so far has been Labyrinth Games in Idaho (yes, that far away!) and Universal Studios Orlando has one too, but this honestly has better.

If I had to give any honest criticism, I would say it's very minor, but it would be to permit users to take a photo or two inside of the room after it's completed. Labyrinth in Idaho actually does this and it sincerely works more in their favor as far as free advertising than it does to spoil the puzzles, believe it or not. They have 2 locations now and are continually expanding. They just bought another building out to expand. Another fun thing to consider is theming the lobby as well. You could also consider selling souvenirs from the escape room. (Again, I'm actually taking from Labyrinth's success.) You can purchase keepsakes from inside of your escape as an additional cost and it truly bolsters your fulfillment of the fun.

Last actual critique, maybe try to work on a little more soundproofing between the rooms. I know this is harder with the size of building sometimes, but it can be a little immersion breaking when your group is taking it seriously and you're in a dinosaur room, talking intensely and suddenly you hear a bunch of kids giggling loudly from another adjacent room.

All in all though, still the best experience in Michigan thus far that I have encountered and I will happily be returning for future escapes. I'd love to see this expand and prosper! It definitely...

You HAVE to go here! The absolute BEST! The props, the people, the storyline, the puzzles... TOP NOTCH! You feel like you're really there... for us, it was "Trapped" in a mine. The only thing missing was the smell of a musty old mine but some things are better left to imagination of course.

This is not just a nicely decorated escape room with some interesting puzzles, this is an IRL (In Real Life) ADVENTURE. A visual and audio experience like no ordinary "room" can deliver!

Shout out to the Game Master and our Game Guide Halley... she was amazing, really pulled the whole thing together so that we had a blast! We even asked her to be in our group picture and she was a good sport about it. Thanks Halley!

Hey owners & Game Master, just a thought... if these had something like "game versions" where the puzzles were different for each version we would be able to enjoy the adventure many times over! We would absolutely go back again to do a "Trapped - Version 2.0" or 3.0, etc. if you know what I mean. So, maybe give it a thought. I bet others feel the same way and you could get more...

We did the abandoned mine escape room and overall found it to be a positive experience. Unlike other escape rooms I have been to, they do not have a leaderboard showing how quickly other people made it out (I want to feel like it is an accomplishment to make it out quickly). The way the mine is set up, you cannot figure out certain clues without the hints from the staff (which I see as a huge negative). The town had an event going on in the street where this establishment is. This event was not posted or advertised anywhere in advance that we saw. Had we known, we would have scheduled to come a day sooner before this event was taking place to avoid the chaos and congestion. The town event left no parking available in the escape room parking lot nor on nearby streets. Might return but there is room for...

We tried the Trapped: Mineshaft Escape for a friend's bachelor party and it was a fantastic experience! The escape room was very well designed, provided a lot of creative, interactive puzzles and an authentic "underground" atmosphere. 5/5 I would recommend this to a small or medium group of people. The only downside to the experience was that a few sections of the experience had intense flashing lights that would not be suitable for people with epilepsy. Overall the Mineshaft Escape was a unique story and a very well built setting. I am looking forward to seeing what Abandoned Acres builds next after they move.

Took our 11 and 9 yo to their first escape room for our son's 11th birthday. Both kids love the 39 Clues and Mr lemoncello's library book series and the National Treasure TV series. This experience was a hit! They are hooked and can't wait to do another escape experience. This was my 5th escape room and my husband's 4th. This room was a total immersion experience, the puzzles were challenging and fun and all 4 of us had a great time. We will definitely be back in Nov when their new room opens.

We went for our first escape room experience today at Abandoned Acres. The two gentlemen were very kind and welcoming. After they explained the ground rules, we watched a short video with a back story or our specific room. This was a great experience, we look forward to returning in the future! Must try the Trapped Mineshaft Escape. Great for all ages, even though our 10 year old was a little unsettled lol.
