Of all the public gardens I've visited, Manito is one of the most satisfying, with it's balance of pond, rock, deciduous trees & towering evergreens, huddled shrubs & bushes, annuals, perinnials, formal gardens, play area, shelters, and a charming park cafe stand. Nothing says spring in Spokane than different shades of lilac blooming with its heady fragrance all around. A popular picnic spot where one can sit under the lilac and enjoy the garden.
