I don't know how the majority of these reviews are positive. The Japanese garden was so unmaintained that we couldn't see in the pond- we barely saw the neon orange back of a single fish through the thick matt of sludge on top of the pond. The fixtures around the Japanese garden are on disrepair, as well as the gazebo and pergola, with the pergola leaning so hard I was concerned it would fall. The other gardens weren't even worth stopping in, with the rose garden being barren with no features and the perennial garden being about what I'd expect of a grandmother's backyard. But my biggest complaint is that they need to hire security for at bare minimum daytime hours. My family- my spouse, our toddler, and I, got FOLLOWED and continuously harassed by another guest who didn't seem to understand boundaries or to go away. Even aside from our little daytime-stalker through the gardens, every few feet I swear I saw people smoking. Not just cigarettes either- m4r1ju4n4 from cartridges, pipes, and j01nts giving off clouds you could smell from across the way. And even worse was the people smoking from FOIL so who knows what they were smoking. With how unsafe the park was during the MIDDLE OF THE DAY, my family will not be returning, even for events. Read moreMy first visit to Manito Park was in the Fall of 2004 when my husband and I were newlyweds. After many moves to different states and several years later, life brought us back to where our lives began together in Spokane. We love visiting the many gardens as a family with our sons. My husband and I visited the Rose Garden together a couple years ago in October. The rose blooms were plentiful and spectacular in the middle of October! It was such a peaceful experience. We visited Duncan Gardens on my Birthday in July this year and just recently this past weekend we visited the Japanese Gardens. I find so much joy simply being in nature and there is so much beauty to appreciate in Manito Park. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. I always enjoy seeing people enjoying the park and gardens as well. It’s a great place to be and visit anytime of year! Walking down Manito Boulevard and around the park on the pathways during the Fall with the golden leaves everywhere is amazing! I love it so much and the best part is it’s always free to visit!! Manito Park has always been a beautiful blessing full of joyful memories...
