I gave this review 5 stars 6 years ago. But now I have seen the decline of this gym. I am making this review not only for myself but a dozen other people that have made comments or approached me about the decline of the equipment. Alot people have to bring there own equipment because ropes, as several people have said "the ropes look like dogs chewed them" I have pictures. The gym equipment vinyl needs to be replaced badly. The cleaning of the gym is in short supply. It has looked dingy and dirty for a while. They don't replace equipment. The TRX that, everyone uses has had one missing for months. One steam sauna is broken, usually takes months to fix. In the hot sauna the boards on the ceiling are warping off. I guess all the money goes to building other gyms than taking care of the ones they have. It's sad. I will let the pictures I have taken speak for themselves. Update: it's been several weeks since I left this review and still have not received any phone calls about my review whatsoever. It goes further the show the lack of accountability and caring for the customers that patron this facility. Furthermore I paid for a particular personal trainer for a particular amount of time to help me get ready for a major surgery and I was informed today that that person has been moved to another location which I understand happens but it just adds fuel to the fire of an already disgruntled patron. This particular trainer has all the certifications and degrees that I need to facilitate my rehabilitation after major surgery. This person will no longer be available so they want me to go with somebody else. I responded that I would rather have my money back so I can go pay for somebody that has the credentials and experiences necessary to help me. Their first response was to not refund my money. Looking forward to talking to a district manager. Will see if that individual communicates with me. If so I will update this review after that discussion. Hope this is helpful. I only write this view to help others and to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. We have a lot of veterans that go to this location and I hate to have them work out in this sub par facility. Semper Fi. Update 09/06/2024 I did get a call from the district manager/owner. It was a pleasant conversation at first. Where she tried to offer me different solutions but when I spoke and said that those solutions weren't going to work for me because of my time constraints distance things like that the conversation escalated into hostility on her part. She became very aggressive. Very combative. When I explained to her that I was she had cut me off several times and I was trying to speak she became even more aggressive and said I was being aggressive which is total gas lighting in blaming somebody else for something you're doing. I'm more than willing to own my stuff. I explained her I was being very polite I just simply could not meet her demands of me going to a gym 30 minutes from my house. I would watch out for the owners in this company. Obviously they have left a bad taste in my mouth. And I've stayed before the gyms are unclean not taking care of and then now we have aggressive owners who don't want to take responsibility for themselves. My suggestion go to a...
Read moreI've been training at MUV for 2 yrs and I've loved all the trainers I've worked with but I have strong issues with the way they treat their clients and what they put them through to get a refund. I bought 100 session right out the gate with my first trainer in January 2023 and I always continued to train with MUV despite trainers coming and going (not uncommon at MUV). I have specific training goals, I want to be able to do a muscle up. It was frustrating but I continued to stick with it and continued to buy sessions because this goal is important to me. My most recent trainer was wonderful, but did he not have the expertise to train me in kipping and other techniques needed to learn a muscle up. At this point I had many trainers come and go and I wasn’t even working with the trainer that I had bought my current sessions with, so I asked for a refund. Charisse, who I spoke to on the phone, made it clear that I would have to be inconvenienced at every turn before they would consider giving me a refund. I would have to drive out to a location 30 minutes from my house where they had a trainer with experience in muscle ups. She would not hear me when I expressed this does not work with my schedule and frequently interrupted. It felt like it was my job to cater to her and help her rather than me as the paying client. After that uncomfortable phone call, I sent an email where I laid out my history of being a very agreeable/high paying client who did not deserve to be treated this way. I also pointed out how the contract I signed in no way states you cannot get a refund if your trainer leaves or is transferred. I stated I would be sharing my experience online if I was not given the refund owed to me. This resulted in another phone call from Charisse which was even more unpleasant. She wanted an in person meeting with me and MUV management and refused to tell me who else would be at this meeting. I was supposed to go into a meeting totally blind without even knowing who would be there. It felt like a trap and just an opportunity to gang up on me. I said if I was being compelled to have an in person meeting that I would be recording it for my records. She promptly changed her mind and said someone will call you next week. Another MUV manager called me the next week, and though he was more polite, he made it clear I would basically have to take legal action if I wanted a refund. I was put through all this when I know refunds are legitimate as I’ve knows others who lost their trainer and were given refunds. It is clear to me that at MUV Fitness your goals and convenience are always secondary to what the company wants or that it does not matter to them at all. They act like trainers are all the same and WILL NOT hear you if it isn’t working out and your goals aren’t being met. This isn’t fair to their trainers either and is one of many reasons why they leave and go where their individual style is appreciated. DO NOT buy sessions with Muv Fitness. I’m out over $3,000 and I don’t want anyone else to have to pay that to learn this lesson. If you are looking for a trainer...
Read moreExtremely predatory business tactics and unprofessional customer service. I have been scammed over a thousand dollars by this 'Business'.
My wife had decided about a year and a half ago to try a gym out. She had no clue that this places memberships were contract only and was surprised by many other hidden fees we were not pleased at all to find. Looking at the plethora of bad reviews they all point to this place being extremely predatory, and the managers will lie to your face about cancellation processes just to make more sales. I highly recommend everyone check out the bad reviews to get a clearer picture of what kind of scams this place is trying to pull off.
My wife had undergone some physical diagnoses a month in to the membership that was required by the doctor that she no longer lift anything over 5 pounds and due to that, plus back surgery in her future, she could no longer work out. After about 7 months of being charged for a service she was not using, she called to cancel the service, only to be met with an outrageous charge to cancel it, plus more charges after it was all said and done. We had learned that at this point it was much cheaper to let the full year of the contract run its course then to try and cancel it before its time. Assuming after the few phone calls of our disinterest to continue doing business with them, they still continued to charge our account months after the contract was over. We had gone in to find out why we were still being charged and it was due to the fact that apparently we were supposed to cancel it, which we made a few previous attempts before to do so. They made no attempt to contact us and had ZERO interest in negotiating or reimbursing any money they took from us. Even after canceling the membership, they continued to charge us again under the premise that we canceled too late in the month to avoid another charge, which like all the other fees, we were not informed of. We again were met with no hope for reimbursement and instead threats of legal actions for ANOTHER 'final charge', in which i had simply stated that they can send the rest of this bill to collections, because I was done paying for a service that was basically never used.
I can now see why other gyms work hard to advertise that they don't have contracts and hidden fees, because those that do are out to scam you. I am left with well over $1,000 of charges that they have no interest in giving back for services that were not used and it feels like one of those scam companies. Their business model is awful and highly deceptive. Do not spend any money here unless you truly are committed to working out and are prepared for some extremely crazy and unprofessional...
