Generally a nice store. I don’t go out often because my disability makes things away from home less than magical. The north Spokane Target is typically clean and not crowded when I’m there like some of the other chains are. There is a good overall variety of everything, even food, but on a smaller scale than a superstore. The staff has always been friendly and helpful anytime I’ve needed help finding something, and the checkers are also courteous and patient with a dash of humor when I’m trying to figure out the ever changing electronic payment systems that play tap, insert, swipe swipe, double click, TRY AGAIN like it’s a game of musical chairs meets duck duck goose.
The checkout lanes are usually crowded and there have never seemed to be enough real live checkers anytime I’ve been there. When they have them, they stagger them front back front back, all together now. I’m sure corporate thinks there’s a reason, but that checkout setup is the reason that in 18 years of living 8 minutes away, I’ve been to that store about 10 times. With all those empty lanes on the same row, they never open them side by side before opening the stands a few feet in front of them. It makes for quite a traffic jam and you can barely get through on a good day, add a walker, wheelchair, and several purchases, and it’s a real circus. Such a shame, because there are several food items that fit my family’s dietary needs and budget that would have had me coming back quite often if it weren’t so restrictive to navigate through.
Now the biggest problem we ran into was as soon as we got to the store. After our 2 hour road trip from the new house in nowheresville, we stopped in at the rest rooms right inside the front door. Some people reading have probably picked up on the foreshadowing and know exactly where I’m going with this. My sister was ahead of me and tried to open the door in her little electric wheelchair. The door was too heavy and she got stuck I couldn’t do anything from my walker since I couldn’t even reach the door, much less push it open so she could keep going. Inside the bathroom is a short hall, the width of the door, so if you hold it open from the inside, you best be flatman so the chair can get by you and the door, forget the follow up in the walker, that’s going to have to be round 2 of, “let me get that door.” Leaving the bathroom is an even bigger adventure though because you have to actually call someone on the outside to open the door for you. We happened to have our dad waiting for us by then, so he answered his phone and then opened the door from the outside and was able to stand to the side while holding it. No one else came in the whole time we were in there. Holy rusted metal Batman! Run on over to the Staples a few doors down and grab some Easy Buttons for goodness sakes! ;)
I know this was a lot of complaining, which is why I tried to write a few positive comments in the beginning to explain the 4 stars. It really is a nice store, but I wanted to be more specific about the two things I see as overall negatives, in case anyone actually...
Read moreHorrible, when someone walks into a world wide corporation business/store they should feel welcomed and wanted, maybe the employers should show some gratification by greeting myself and that me walking in is solidifying their gonna have a job to clock in at the next day n a paycheck on payday. Well, nope, not the target on Spokane's north end, they were all almost like robots. Except their absolutely effin illiterate, young, judgmental, stereotypical, under trained, loss prevention and the people target has on the floors that loss prevention recruits... It was absolutely hilarious, never have I walked into this store prior to today, n when I walked in I wasn't any different then the next human to walk through their business doors. Anyways, was school clothes shopping, a girlfriend came with me until her husband called n wanted her to do something with family so instead of leaving with her or making her stand and wait in line I told her I'd pick the items she'd wanted for her son's n told her I'd get the grew she wasn't able to get n then we said our goodbyes she walked out while I continued to finish what I'd set out to originally do. I promised to grab some pants for her 2 younger boys so that's what I did, I didn't know EXACTLY what she was going to like so I grabbed like 3 different pairs for each kid n planned on when I went into the fitting rooms to try the 3 items I picked out for myself I'd call n FaceTime her then n get her opinions as to which pairs I should pick up for her, well not only do I have like 4 different people following my every move and its clear as day that's what's going on n i know it n they know it but yet look like complete n utter idiots when I approach them to find out what it is I'm doing or have done wrong since walking into this store. They all look at me, lie to my face n tell me oh no ma'am I'm not watching you, I am just now noticing you for the first time. My non filtered behind laughs, throws my head back with animation and loudly states I'm not a thief, nor am I a liar and I really hate when people lie or steal from me, ESPECIALLY LYING AFTER YOUR CAUGHT, THOSE ARE THE WORST PEOPLE LIVING.....!!!! N I swear they all work at your neighborhood Spokane target. Never again will i shop target, or will I recommend shopping here to anyone or for anyone. The biggest fast mouth liars I've ever met n quite frankly they'll never get a red cent outta me or mines ever again. Thanks for listening and letting me...
Read moreThis past weekend we took a 2 1/2 hour trip to Spokane specifically to go to this Target location to pick up a crib for our first baby that is due in two months. The associate went to the back to get our crib and I double checked with her that it was the right color and she said it was. After we got all the way back home I went to set up the crib and realized I was given the wrong color. I was super upset due to us driving all that way and having it be not what I wanted. I called the store and they assured me they had the right color in stock and put it on hold and we made the trip again the next day to exchange the wrong crib for the correct one. When we got there Donovan at customer service helped me out and gave me 20% off for our troubles. We finally got the right crib back to our house and when we opened the box the hardware was missing. We even went to Home Depot to try and get similar screws just so we didn't have to do that drive again. We couldn't find anything that would work. We ended up calling Target again and Donovan was the one who actually answered the phone. I told him what had happened and this man went out of his way to mail us the hardware for our crib from a different box they had there just so we didn't have to go all the way back a third time. Probably the best customer service experience I have received anywhere. Thank you so SO...
