Not a fan of Lilla. I bought a dress back in 2023 and still get flashbacks of how horrible it was to shop here for my one and only prom dress. So please DONT GO HERE if you want a good, fun experience of shopping around for your perfect dress! Let me begin by explaining that all of the employees were so very nice and extremely helpful… However, the owner was a nightmare. I came here in 2023 and arrived at 1:50 pm for my 2:00 appointment. I checked in and met the nicest girl who said she was going to be helping me pick my prom dress. She explained that there were no current changing rooms available. I had absolutely no problem waiting because I was going to need some time look at the amazing options. They said we could choose 5 dresses to start with. After I was done picking my minimum of 5 there were still no changing rooms. So I did what any person would do, I just kept looking through the dresses. By the time there was a rooms available I had found about 7 dresses I knew I wanted to try on. Instead of trying on the first 5 and later asking to try on the other dresses I thought it would be quicker to ask if I could try on all the ones I wanted at once. Don’t forget I had been waiting long enough at that point, but I had no issue with that. Once I started trying on dresses the owner (I presume because she was an older woman) kept eyeing my mother and I asking impolite questions asking if I had tried on “enough” and implying I was taking too long. She was very adamant and n reminding me how many dresses I had tried on and scoffed when I wanted to try on a dress for a second time. At that point I felt rushed and I had dragged my mom all the way there for an appointment, so I quickly tried on each dress I had picked without stepping out of the room to avoid the older woman and her questions, not allowing me to step out and see the dress in the larger mirror outside. I just asked my mom to snap quick pictures of the dresses as I tried them on. The young clerk apologized for how the owner was acting and asked if I wanted to try anything else on, but I just wanted to get out of there. So my mom and I decided on a dress that was beautiful, but at what cost? I had a terrible experience, felt rushed to a decision and rushed out of the door as if my presence was an inconvenience after we walked in and spent a pretty penny on a dress. If I’m being honest I think the owner thought I was from the prior appointment time and just hadn’t left, running over into the next allotted time, but when I got there I had to wait for a room to open up, which may have been part of the confusion. But waiting for the people prior may have pushed my time back, but that was completely out of my control and I wasn’t mad about waiting at all. What I am still mad about 2 years later is how rude the owner was. I would not recommend going here to anyone who is isn’t entirely sure of what you want because they only have certain dresses in certain size and in certain colors. You can’t see all the colors a specific style can come in and if you want it they have to order and assume it will be what you’re looking for. And if they have one you like but not in your size you’ll never really know how it will fit you unless they order it and at that point you’ve already paid… and after reading other reviews, it sound like it takes a long time to ship. Overall, the owner is simply rude, so in my opinion not worth it when you’re shopping for prom or a wedding. These are meant to be beautiful and exciting experiences not rude and rushed ones. On the plus side, the young retail work said the owner isn’t there everyday, just on some days, so if you do go cross your fingers and pray...
Read moreThis was by far the worst wedding dress experience I've had through my dress shopping experience. Another bride and I, both from Baltimore (approx 1 hour from the shop), made appointments with Lilllas. My mother had purchased her wedding dress from Lilla's years ago, so we thought it would be great to go there again. I've been to at least 3 other bridal shops within the past month and Lila's was the only shop that had completely unacceptable customer service. To begin the unpleasant experience, when we arrived, the owner of the shop did not great us and merely walked past us on her way out of the shop with her husband. Despite scheduling two different brides for separate appointments, there was only one sales representative working in the entire store. While the sales representative was nice, she was young and completely inexperienced. When we made our choices as to what dresses we were going to try on, the sales representative put us in our dressing rooms and said "let me know if you need anything," rather than assisting us in the dresses and clipping us to size. Again, at all the other bridal shops I've been to recently, the sales representative comes in with you and helps you get dressed and pins your dress to show an accurate fit. When asking the rep about the dress style or designer, she was unable to answer our questions. Additionally, when exiting our dressing rooms to look in the full mirrors, the rep did not assist us in fixing the train, rather, my parents were crawling on the floor trying to open the train to get the full effect.
While there are several other things that I was unhappy with, these are the things that I feel that other brides should truly consider when choosing a bridal shop to look at. The dress shopping process is very overwhelming and customer service is the only thing that can make the experience better.
What is most unfortunate about this situation is that me and the other bride actually decided that we both want to purchase one of the dresses each of us tried on, and now instead of just purchasing the dresses from Lila's we will find another bridal shop that carries the dress.
I hope this helps...
Read moreI purchased my main wedding dress from Lilla’s Bridal Boutique. I had tried on the dress in another store, but it was very itchy and that store did not have a seamstress that I could talk to. Not only was Lilla’s able to order the dress for me to try on, but they were also able to set up and appointment for me to meet with the owner and incredibly talented seamstress, Dianna about my concerns with the dress and about the custom work I wanted done. The dress required some minor alterations, significant custom work, and a very involved under bustle. Dianna’s work is of upmost quality. She was easy to work with along the way and she provided me with an email address so that I could summarize my thoughts in writing and send her a photo to make sure we were on the same page about the custom work. The custom work involved lining the dress to make it more comfortable, creating and extended illusion back and neck line, and adding extensive amounts of crystals. It was something from a fairytale when it was completed! However, I did have some minor issues with fit. When we got the dress home and tried it on, the bra cups were not laying right. My mom and I were able to untack and re-tack them, and after that it fit so much better. I am not sure what caused this issue, but we were able to completely fix it with minimal effort. The other thing I noticed was that as I wore my dress throughout the day it dropped a bit. I understand that you walk a fine line to make the dress the right length, and I think it was just so heavy that it ended up stretching/dropping a bit which made it difficult to walk later on. I had a dress change planned for my first dance, but my original plan was to change back into my Lilla’s dress. However the day of, I decided to stay in my dance dress because the Lilla’s dress was really too big to dance with and I didn’t want people stepping on it. My dress pictures will speak for themselves. The crystals and tulle on the neckline were added. I felt so special knowing I was in a one-of-a-kind dress for my wedding. My mom got her gown and got it altered from Lilla’s as well. Dianna is a treasure. 🤍 Photos by Nicole Barr...
