I hardly ever give a negative rating, however our trip to Stonetbrook yesterday deserves one. Our waitor Patrick was great, that needs to be said. First off we ordered an appetizer , the sample basket with onion rings, chicken fingers and cheese sticks. Patrick put in our order. Came back 3 minutes later and took 3 dinner orders. He returned again 5 minutes later with our appetizers , salads, rolls and butter. My husband had to go to the front to ask for Plates to eat our appetizers. He no sooner sat down with our plates and here comes our dinner. Now I appreciate fast service. However I do not appreciate having my appetizers , salad and dinner plopped on my table all within 10 minutes. It was so bad that the waitor had to help us combine plates to make room on the table. then.. We realized 2 of the dinners were plated wrong with the wrong sides. So, he brought more plates so we could scrape off the sides and get them to the right people. My husband ordered a chef salad. The cheese on the salad was cut in strip orange immation cheese. The Ham was lunch meat Ham.. And the "Turkey" did not appear to be Turkey although we we're told it was. It looked and smelled like Tuna Fish. Actually the whole chef salad tasted like tuna fish, as our waitor agreed it did in fact smell like tuna. The tomatos were hard.. And the insides were yellow green clearly rock hard and not ripe. My husband took a few bites of his salad and called again for the waitor. Patrick apologized and asked my husband what he wanted instead. My husband choose an Angus Burger. 20 minutes later he got. As we had already finished our meals. My son did Not eat his Chopped steak because it was ordered Med. and came out well done, dead, beat down and hard like a hockey Puck. No and I repeat no compensation was offered even after we sent things back, we were even charged for the Burger even after the salad was charged. Our bill was close to 50$ And we paid it. Because after voicing our complaints with the young man running the register all he could do was shrug and say oh well you win some you loose some. What Is That? My entire family has given this establishment business for over 15 years and never once have we been treated this way. Well, I guess you are going to loose some since my family consist of 12 people who frequent your establishment 2-4 times a month. Where was the manager when we asked? We couldn't get one. And to let you know, my husband ended up sick from the meal yesterday because he can not eat fish. There is no excuse to have fish juice dripping in or on a salad. Or to have your meats laying in fish juice. There is no mistaking the smell of fish. And there is absolutely no excuse to have 3 people at a table covered in dishes and food because your timing was horrific. You know that something or everything is going to be cold by the time you eat it. There was no reason for any of this to happen it was 3 pm on a Friday and there were only 8 couples in your establishement. So you definitely lost my family as customers. There are plenty of other establishments that wants our business. You win some you loose some /shrug ...so I guess in this instance you loose some. 12...
Read moreWe just moved to York, and were looking for locally owned restaurants. This place was about 20 minutes from us, so we decided to try them. We got there at 5:00-ish, right in the midst of the dinner rush. We waited for about 15 minutes to be seated. The person seating us took our drink order, and it took pur waitress about 5 minutes to come to us. They were busy, we do get that. Service was great, thanks Lesli! The food: I started with a cup of Maryland crab, it was not traditional Maryland crab (we moved from Baltimore, we know Maryland crab!) This soup fid not have that tomato-ey, beefy rich both. It tasted more like it was made with chicken broth. It was tasty, but not Maryland style. Hubby had the gyro- only 2 slices of meat, and a loaded sweet potato (it was small but good). I had the stuffed chicken breast. The stuffing was homemade but needed a bit more seasoning. The chicken breast was tasty, but a bit over-cooked/dry, and only had about a tablespoon of gravy over it. It needed more. My baked sweet potato a day pickled beets were good. Atmosphere: the establishment was clean and well laid out. Booths were roomy which was nice for this big girl! They do have counter...
Read moreFor early risers like me, Stoneybrook Diner is more than just a breakfast spot; it's a morning sanctuary. Opening at the break of dawn at 5:00 AM, it’s the perfect place for those of us who start our day with the sunrise.
What sets Stoneybrook apart is its emphasis on freshly cooked meals. Here, every dish is prepared to order, a refreshing change from the pre-made norm. The food is consistently delicious, whether it's their fluffy, golden pancakes or their perfectly seasoned omelets.
But the real gem of Stoneybrook is its staff, particularly a server named Amy. Amy's warmth and kindness epitomize the diner's homely feel. Recently, she went above and beyond by baking her own cookies and making candies, which she lovingly packaged into goodie bags for her guests. This personal gesture not only delighted us but also showcased the exceptional level of care and community spirit found at Stoneybrook.
Stoneybrook Diner is more than just a place to eat; it's a warm, welcoming community, thanks in no small part to the wonderful people like Amy who work there. It's the perfect start to any early morning, filled with great food and even...
