Aloha Snow — Restaurant in Springettsbury Township

I drive sooooo far out of my way to get aloha snow - by far the best snowball around, staff is great, reminds me of my childhood in York!!! What exactly makes these snowballs worth a two hour trek, you might ask. TEXTURE - Smooth but not too fluffy - gives it a few seconds to melt in your mouth so you can enjoy the flavor MARSHMALLOW SYRUP - I don’t know how they make it, but not chewy marshmallow fluff, not thick syrupy goo - a perfect in-between FLAVORS - They have the most extensive list of flavors I’ve ever seen!!! I always come back for the Egg Custard though - sweet but not sickeningly so. Can’t find this flavor anywhere in NOVA! An amazing place to get a snowball! Being a Baltimore native I’ve grown up on snowballs and during the summer make trips back home just to get one. Now I don’t need to go as far because Aloha Snow will satisfy my snowball needs.

The texture of the ice is so smooth. It leans more into water ice territory than traditional chunky Baltimore snowballs but that’s not a bad thing. I do tend to like mine a little “flakier” but that’s just me being picky. The flavor variety is ridiculous! I went with my old favorite, chocolate.

This place is the best on a hot day. The shave the ice fresh right in front of you and add whatever flavors you like. My favorite is Jamaican Me Crazy. There are hundreds of flavors and combinations to appeal to everybody's taste buds. I enjoy the sour flavors as well and you can even get this INSANELY strong sour liquid added to your ice. They only put a little drop and it kicks it up a whole other level. I also love getting the marshmallow topping added to it and there are other toppings to choose from.
