NXT Computers — Attraction in Springfield Township

DO NOT take your computer to NXT Computers in Springfield. I took my Imac in for repair in Aug 2012. The hard drive was spinning up really fast and sometimes would shut down the system. I brought my machine in to NXT and it was diagnosed with bulging capacitors in the power supply section of the board. The Imac is notorious for heat issues. I paid $375 for the caps to be replaced. The problem was a bit better but not gone so I took it back again. They looked at it and declared that it was as good as they could make it. Three weeks ago, late April 2013, the problem was back to the same severity as before. I decided to try another shop.They diagnosed the same issue and showed me the hot-glued but never replaced capacitors that I thought had been replaced by NXT. Guess NOT!. Charged me $80 for a "cleaning and lubrication" which is basically them just blowing compressed air into my fans to get dust out. They did this in response to FPS issues while I played games. They said "We think we fixed the problem". Took my laptop home and noticed no differences at all.

Went to a DIFFERENT repair shop and was told right then and there what my problems were by technician, parts were picked up and installed 24 hours afterwards.

Do not recommend this location, they don't apply a scientific method to figuring out your problems unless they're clearly visible and then give you a nice expensive "solution they think worked" and write on the bill "if x doesn't work then Y might, bring it back if there is still issues! (So we can charge you more money).

Rating: 10%, probably less. Irritated and feeling like my issue was resolved...

For the last 7 plus years, Max and all of the folks at NXT have handled all of our office IT issues, from setting up new servers, laptops, PC's and printers, to repairing/resolving all issues that arise thereafter. While they are extremely knowledgeable, if they come across an unusual issue, they personally research that issue to come up with the best solution. Likewise, while they are extremely well versed with most programs, they also quickly and with great interest learn programs that are perhaps unique to certain businesses, so that they can assist in fixing any issues that periodically arise in those programs. While I cannot comment on Mr. Harker's issues, I can say that our experience with NXT has been superb. They have always been knowledgeable, reliable, trustworthy...
