I generally love Mission BBQ. I have gone to the one in Wyomissing with my family and had a great experience. Naturally, I wanted to take my husband to the one closest to us. I was excited as I know what a good experience Mission can provide at their best. Sadly, what we experienced at this location tonight was clearly its worst. I placed our order over the phone and the crew member repeated it back to me correctly. When we went to pick it up, they had forgotten my husband's pick two meat market sampler completely. They rang us back up, and the cashier explained that they "ran out of the sausage earlier, and that's why they took it off." But they provided us with it then and there, so I am unsure of what she meant by that. We had to run our card three times to straighten our order out, they didn't charge our order correctly (separated the sides from the entrée, not making one of the combos a combo). I kind of shrugged it off, we got our drinks, and went home. That's when we discovered the dismal amount of meat that they had included in my husband's sampler (for almost $11! They gave him more cornbread then brisket!), our food was cold as though it was sat out for an excessive amount of time, and the teas were clearly in the wrong dispenser. I got a half-unsweetened tea and half-lemonade and he got a half-sweet tea and half-lemonade. It was the exact opposite, and we hadn't put down our cups since leaving the restaurant. The staff was sympathetic lite. They knew that things hadn't gone well, but didn't really try to make things right. Really disappointed, since again, I know that Mission BBQ on the whole is a great chain. This store, on the other hand, not so much. For reference for the photo, the cornbread was probably like a 2inx2in square. The brisket was dry, almost...
Read moreAmazing all the way around. Great service, amazing food, and the atmosphere was exactly what I wanted.
As you walk in, it can be a little disorienting with so much going on but as you begin to take it in you see how important the local hero’s are. These guys care about the men and women who serve our country. The staff greeted me warmly and when they discovered it was my first time they spent time walking me through the whole menu and explaining the style of food. A gentleman gave me a coupon for a free sandwich as a gift for my first time.
I ordered the pulled pork with a side of Mac and cheese. Amazing. Man did it hit! They have lemonade and sweet tea, but I mixed it half and half and my gosh. The food was literally some of the best I had. I used the mission belle and smokehouse sauce. They offer 6 hot sauces on the table. Lisa was cleaning and serving the table, she helped me so much, was very attentive, and cleaned up the table for us. I was taken back.
Lisa then offered me a free dessert as a first time visitor. I’ll truly never forget the service and food and can’t wait to bring my family back.
I recommend this place wholeheartedly. I had the best time and it was money well spent. The staff is responsive and well trained and so welcoming. You won’t have a bad time here I promise!
Shoutout to Lisa, and the Spanish gentleman (was it Justin?) for truly making my first...
Read moreAs soon as you walk in the staff are accommodating, friendly and welcoming. It was our first time visiting here and the person at the counter was very knowledgeable about the menu. All 3 of us got the (lean) brisket sandwich. It was tender, moist and well seasoned. A treat for the taste buds. Nothing was dry or tasted "old", everything is made to order, especially the French fries.
They have 6 choices of sauces (and others that aren't on the menu) My favorite was smoky mountain & their horse radish sauce. Our sides we got were mac & cheese, French fries & potato salad. Also tried the (hot) homemade peach cobbler which was excellent.
Manager named Joe came over to check in on our meal, he was very polite and outgoing to make sure the dining experience was exactly that, an experience not just somewhere to eat. Told us that everything on the menu is made to order, even the sauces are made on site.
A very patriotic establishment that honors service members and 1st responders. You'll find tons of military/police/fire patches & memorabilia all over, ranging from across the world to local.
Will definitely be returning. The food was top notch and so was the service. Also supporting the armed forces is a big bonus. It was a big hit with the family that's for...
