Outback in Springfield PA was once our favorite place to go every weekend. Unfortunately it’s been going downhill for the past decade or so we visit maybe once per year. After our annual visit we’d say never again. The food was terrible. With each visit we’d hope things would improve. Didn’t happen. It’s a shame as at one time it was a great place to get a nice meal for a reasonable price. Recently our grandchildren (7&5) started to enjoy eating steak. They saw a TV commercial for the Outback and begged to go there to have a delicious steak. We finally gave in and took them to Outback last night. Big mistake. The meal was awful. We ordered each of the kids the center cut sirloin steak. They typically gobble down their steak and ask for more. We ordered the adult version for each of them. They chewed and chewed the first bite. The second bite after chewing for a long time the spit the piece out and asked if they had any chicken nuggets. I took a bite to see the problem. The steak was so tough and tasteless. I’m glad the stopped eating as they could easily choked. My son asked the server to take the steaks away telling her the problem and ordered the chicken tenders. The server never acknowledged the problem or offered any price adjustment. The tenders were stone cold as was every dish we were we received. The bread blooming onion and chicken wings side dishes and main entree - all ice cold. My son who can devour a burger ate a quarter of his burger. He said it tasted strange and way too salty. The French onion soup and Caesar salad were very salty too. The Alice Spring Chicken and Chicken on the Barbie were dry as a bone cold and salty. My Prime Rib was a disgrace. So much fat tough and the smallest edible piece of meat ever which wasn’t very tasty. I ordered it medium and my daughter in law said it looked raw. It wasn’t raw but it was close to it. Good thing there wasn’t much meat to eat. My baked potato was under cooked and hard as a rock. I ordered toppings which came in a shot glass size cup. Toppings on a hard cold potato doesn’t melt. The server came to clear the table and asked if we needed boxes. No thanks. All in all this meal was absolutely the worst ever. We should have asked to see the manager but didn’t want to make a scene. Not that there were very many other customers. Maybe 5 other tables were taken and it’s a huge space. We wanted to leave and go home and find something to eat. So if you’re looking for an expensive and horrible meal go to the Outback Steak House. Otherwise please try...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this location to grab a bite to eat. We did the call ahead seating and when we arrived we were told it would be about a 20 wait- although there was only one family ahead of us and the restaurant had multiple tables empty and cleaned. We decided to grab two seats at the bar since it wasn’t crowded. We both ordered the special three course meal. We were never given bread, which we love, but didn’t complain because we figured we would enjoy our drink and have our first course soon. We both ordered the blooming burger as our entree and both were cooked medium to medium rare - although one was requested well done and one medium well. They were both red. We sat at the bar waiting for refills on our drinks, and tried to get the two bartenders attention multiple times. We waited 15+ minutes and decided to pack our food and go home. We continued waiting and finally we were able to request boxes. We were Asked if we wanted Dessert, and I reminded them that it was included with our meal, and we’d take it go as well. I expressed our dissatisfaction of being unattended to and disregarded- and we received no apologies. We were Offered a drink on the house and we declined as we wanted to end this disaster. I asked if we could please just get our dessert. The bartender left and began cleaning the bar and then left completely. We were able to get the attention of the second bartender and again asked for our dessert. Then she disappeared to the kitchen to retrieve it- but never came back. We simply got up and left without it. We were absolutely disappointed in this experience and do not look forward to returning. In addition, in the time we sat there, the couple next to us had problems as well because they were charged for a double drink- when clearly I heard them order a “vodka tonic”. Then they were told they took one dollar off to make up for it. The woman even next to them sent her food back because of some reason I could not hear. The gentleman next to us told the female bartender that the male bartender needs help as they left and were very dissatisfied. I’ve been to this location so many times as well as the prior one a few units down. Each time it gets worse and worse. And to top it off, $6+ for a bottle of miller lite at Outback is ridiculous. I don’t even pay for that when I order a beer with an ocean view. Let alone, being frustrated with the service of this establishment. What a waste of...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve been going to this outback for over a decade. Once it moved and went under new ownership/ management it went down the tubes. This is the second time that I’ve been in a month time span and my food wasn’t correct, but tonight was the first time I’ve ever experienced bad food and bad service here. I had call ahead and still ended up waiting 30 minutes. Once seated the waitress never came over to say hello, I’ll be right with you, etc. 15-20 minutes passed and the hostess ended up asking what we wanted to drink and brought us bread (s/o to her, she was the only good thing of my night). My table ordered two steaks medium well and one came out medium and the other well done. The well done steak was returned to the kitchen because that’s not what I ordered. They brought out another steak… again well done and just dried out … I sent it back. Both steaks looked like I ordered them from petco. The manager came over and apologized, but wasn’t really all that helpful. He said he would come back to see how the steak would come out. Third steak I told her just tell them to do it medium, since they can’t seem to do medium well. It came out and it looked like they cut it right off the cow and put it on my plate. It was medium rare. I sent it back and asked for my check because at that point I’m ready to go. It’s no way in hell a STEAKHOUSE can’t get a steak right. I’m sure I would have had better luck at Applebees. The waitress didn’t at all apologize for the incompetency, the inconvenience, the slow service…. etc. The manager never came back to see the rare meat they tried to serve me…I’ve never experienced anything like this, but they need to clean house from the management back to the kitchen. Everyone except the hostess should not be working in the service industry. If it’s any consolation (it’s not on my end), they didn’t charge me for the THREE steaks they messed up. I paid my bill (which should have been free) and left. I don’t recommend this location at all. Go to Longhorn...
