I had a disappointing experience. There were only 3 families, including me, on a Sunday evening (7 pm). They brought my food and never returned -- I had to motion for her. I didn't have high expectations because many dishes are under $10, but I was still disappointed. I ordered Dan Dan noodles and Roti Canai. The roti came out first and the roti itself was extremely oily, to the point that there was oil on the plate. It wasn't flaky; it was rather flat and saturated with oil, to the point that I had to squeeze it between my napkin to release some of the oil. The dipping sauce was very good. The Dan Dan noodles came with very little minced pork. It came out so hot that it was clear it had been microwaved. It was steaming. There was a huge mound of what tasted like store bought, boxed linguine tossed in a spicy sauce with pickled radish and a small portion of minced pork on top. I told the server that there was very little meat in relation to the portion of noodles. Her response was to say it was a starter dish and that if I wanted more meat she could bring me a side for an extra $2.00. I declined and told her to consider it as feedback: As a starter dish, don't serve a full mound of noodles and a tiny amount of minced pork. Instead, aim to make the amount of noodles proportional to the amount of meat so that when customers take a bite they have both. As it was, I had a piece or two of meat to a mouthful of all noodles. She shrugged and walked off, so I asked for a to go box and my check.
The food has a very basic taste. It's not terrible, but it's also not good either. Decent is the right word. It tastes like something my teenage kids put together with groceries I brought from Acme. Admittedly, I usually go to Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House, which is a similar price point and they make their noodles in house. I wasn't expecting homemade noodles but I also wasn't expecting store bought either. I didn't feel like making the 25 minute drive to Nan Zhou and I want badly to find a solid noodle restaurant closer to my home so I tried Noodle 88. It's unlikely...

My friend and I had a cringy dinner here. She ordered the eggplant dish thinking there would be other vegetables...nope just a huge bowl of eggplant. Not that it was bad, it tasted good, but who wants to eat a whole eggplant alone? Meanwhile I ordered the Home Style Tofu....oh boy. The tofu was sitting in what I think was really just chili oil. I took a few bites and my entire mouth was coated in what felt like wax. From here I started feeling like I was having an allergic reaction. My lips and tongue started to swell, which made no sense since 1 even thought it was a "spicy" dish it was not spicy, and 2 I do not have known allergies. My friend took a bite of my dish and said her mouth was also covered in a weird texture. So I stopped eating the dish completely because who wants to eat something making their mouth feel like wax and tongue and lips swell. When the waitress comes back at the end of the meal looks at my basically untouched food she was like oh you couldn't eat it because it was too spicy. I told her it wasn't spicy, but that it was causing me an allergic reaction. She was like oh okay, took the plate and then left immediately. I wasn't really expecting anything, but I just thought it really wild for a restaurant to see someone not eat their food because it was giving them an allergic reaction and the response be like oh okay cool bye!...but the spring...
Read moreThis is regarding the customer service, this was my first time trying the place, the elderly guy that was behind the counter was not very friendly at all, barely said hello, that was my first clue, there were two people leaving, then no one else in there at all. The waitress handed the elderly guy the check and cash from the people that just left, they were straight faced to each other, not one word spoken, their interaction seemed odd, so I proceeded to tell him this was my first time trying the place, I asked how long they had been here, barely an answer. So I pick up the paper menu to see what they have to offer, everything was quite pricey. So I decided to try the vegetable fried rice. I paid the 12.59 cash and proceeded to wait for my order. Then I see, far away from the menu's they have another menu with lunch specials on it, that are not listed on the menu presented upon arrival, that essentially would have saved me 5.00 and would have had meat in it. It would have been nice if the guy offered that menu to me, being it was 1pm, but he was obviously very dumb and money hungry, because I will never return simply for that reason alone. Ignorant rich Chinese guy, that just wanted my money. Didn't seem like he was a decent employer either by the way the waitress and the cook that brought my food out acted around him. Let's irradiate Noodle Eighty Eight!! Don't need ya, have too many other places to choose from...
