After being told to get into a towel, the staff then arrived and said she would "check our muscles." This is when the up sell started. She told me that my muscles were very tense and that I needed a deep tissue massage. I told her I wanted the Sweedish massage included in the Groupon package. She insisted that I needed the deep tissue massage. I politely declined again. She started my massage and ended up giving me a deep tissue massage. The massage itself hurt! She used her elbows at one point to dig into my back. Honestly, I was waiting for it to be over. In hindsight, I did appreciate that she moved from head to toe and included all the body parts that should be massaged. I was extremely sore the next 2-3 days after the massage and noticed bruises on my back the night I went home from redeeming this Groupon.
Next was the facial. She then proceeded to tell me that she was going to check the skin on my face 1/4 through my facial. She said my skin was extremely dirty and needed microdermabrasion. She then proceeded to tell me that it was originally 136 and she would give it to me for 60. I declined 2-3 times after which she took a needle pore stick and scraped my face extremely roughly. She took the needle and took out whiteheads from my skin in a very painful manner, I was hoping I would not end up with scars. I've had this procedure done before and no where was it this painful! My partner was hounded with the same "you need microdermabrasion" and got coaxed into it. She received a 3 minute microdermabrasion treatment for $60. It was a rip off considering usually 20 minute microdermabrasion treatments are $60 depending on the place. The facial was not satisfactory. It mainly consisted of 3 products being put on the face. Blackheads/whiteheads were not removed properly. At the end a mask was applied and we were let out about 20 minutes earlier than the 1 hour facial time. I felt as if at the end the staff was trying to get us out since more customers were arriving. The lady that was giving me a facial towards the end came in and removed my mask and cleaned up my face then went over to my partner and removed her mask and proceeded her treatment without washing her hands between customers. I was glad it was over. My face seemed like it took a beating along with my back and body.
We proceeded out to the lobby to pay the rest of our bill where we were told we would be charged a Groupon Tax fee! I have never had a business charge a Groupon tax fee before! She then charged us $64 for the microdermabrasion instead of the original $60 she had promised. To top it all off she then tried to sell products again saying that we could buy a massage/facial package that is originally $360 but would give it to us for $140 if we bought on the spot. I declined saying the place was far for us. She then said that we could buy a gift card that would never expire and we would be able to use it at 6 of her other locations. She basically wanted us to buy more services and after I declined she started on my partner with the same sell tactics. When my partner declined she told us that she's 40 and the lady that did my partner's massage was 38 and they looked a lot younger because they get massages/facials regularly and that we should do the same. I wanted to enjoy this Groupon and was looking forward to a nice, relaxing day. The up sell of the staff ruined it. It felt like I was being hounded to buy more services and when declined, the staff seemed upset. It took away from the relaxing experience. I have contacted Groupon to inform them that they are charging customers a "Groupon Tax" so that they don't rip other customers off. Groupon informed me that the fine print says "No additional fees are to be charged." I will be following up with Groupon in...
Read moreThe minute you walk in they are trying to get as much money out of you as possible. They tried to get a tip out of us at check in which I politely declined until after I had actually received the service. They started 30 min late which wasn’t horrible.
The minute my husband and I were on our respective tables, the upselling started.
They started by asking us what kind of pressure we wanted for our previously purchased Swedish massages and told us it would be extra for any kind of pressure. I said ok to a deep tissue upgrade for my husband as that’s what he always needs. I have always been okay with a Swedish massage. She proceeded to lightly and uselessly brush her hands across my back for 10 minutes until I said fine, “upgrade me too”. This felt like an extortion.
My husband’s masseuse talked the entire massage trying to upsell him on buying a package. My masseuse spent the entire time applying cold oil, painful knuckle and elbow pressure that she didn’t adjust when I repeatedly asked, and ignoring my complaints of how cold I was. My back was painful, swollen, and bruised in spots the next day. I get massages frequently and this has never happened before.
When we were finally done, she delayed taking our payment and repeatedly tried to sell us on a package. I had to say no way too many times.
In the end I ended up tipping just as graciously as I normally do despite my horrible massage only because they were incredibly insistent about it.

Read moreI got a Groupon to get a couples massage 💆♀️and it all seemed perfect. We were on time and waiting, and there were alot of going back and forth amongst the staff. They only had one masseuse available for the both of us and therefore they had to reschedule us. We came back and they offered to add on services for free to make up for the error. My massuese was beyond mediocre and my husband's masseuse he loved. My masseuse was making so much noise that I couldn't relax. And her movements were either too jerky or non soothing so it was not a pleasurable experience. My package came with fruit, tea and chocolate and it ended up being a Choco pie, an unripe pear and a little cup of hot lemon water. So it was not a pleasurable experience. The add on treatment which was a hand treatment with a heating pad was a complete waste of time and the reflexology was not effectual. This place is under new management, with the old owners it was in amazing experience definitely not with these people. If I actually paid the full value of this service I would have wanted a full refund it is only worth the groupon price and even less because the quality is so poor. I hate to speak so bluntly about the service I received but I had been here before and loved it so much then to have such a stark contrast is completely emotionally...
